Dick Cross was SALTY about it on Twitter, too. Said it was “top shelf” Mickey Mouse.

My reaction was that there are at least 2 shelves higher on the Mickey Mouse chart:
1. Falling for the hidden ball trick
2. Whining about the hidden ball trick

Yeah, at the travel ball level, there are two things that work like a charm: a hidden ball trick around second base and a straight steal of home as the pitcher comes set. The teams who are on the wrong end of those things like to ***** about it being Mickey Mouse. How about you coach your team, and it won't be a problem?

This particular hidden ball play is especially embarrassing because the third baseman never got rid of the ball and never got close to the pitcher. It was so obvious that people actually cheered when it went down....a sure sign that people in the stands knew what was up. Everyone was in on the gag except the baserunner and the 3B coach. That's just embarrassing.

Really though. How do neither the runner or the 3rd base coach not notice the ball is never thrown back to the pitcher? It’s not like there was some sort of fake handoff or something. He just never throws it back. I thought maybe the runner’s back was turned when the shortstop tossed it to the 3rd baseman, so he thought it went to the pitcher. Watched it again. Nope. He’s standing there clapping.

Intentionally taking out a player is complete mickey mouse.

I guess if you do it with "class" makes it different.

If that was Mickey Mouse then what does it make Ole Miss baseball?

Mickey Mouse makes a hell of a lot more money than Richard Cross.
