Could be a blow out but could be close due to a let down after such a big win. Hopefully Cal has learned that Knox is not at his best at the SF but at the PF where he has a huge mismatch vs other bigs

Maybe a little of both? On the other hand, maybe it rings some truth and hits a little too close to home.

I think Vanderbilt has to develop a more diversified offense scheme if it is ever going to be a serious team. I know part of that is Vanderbilt is limited by its personnel, but I feel like they also kind of put themselves in that position.

I pull for Vanderbilt and all the SEC teams to be good. Any fan of basketball should. I hated to hear about Shittu's knee injury because he is the type of player Vanderbilt desperately needs. Vanderbilt has to find more of these guys. Or, in the alternative, I guess they can just keep firing up 3s, and hope nobody figures that out.

We need better personnel for Coach Drew's system. Saben Lee can drive it but doesn't have an effective jumper yet, same with Max Evans to a lesser degree on driving and shooting. Riley is becoming the player we thought he would be now that MFD is out, Roberson plays well just about every game. We don't have a single effective back to the basket player.

Yes we shoot a lot of 3's but your assertion of just trying to stop the 3's is silly because we'll drive it all day if you do that. The more intelligent approach is to try and run Riley off the 3 point line and force everybody else to shoot rather than drive.

We should win the game comfortably, but a team with all freshmen and two sophomores is an unknown commodity from game to game. If we play well and with the intensity we showed in the second half Saturday night, Vandy will get smoked. That's a big IF. As others have alluded to, we could also play sluggish (especially early) due to a letdown after such a big road win. Honestly, I see no way Vandy wins this one at Rupp, but that's why they play the game. I just hope the team has finally realized how hard they have to play every game and the W. Virginia win propels them to a great finish. We've got a lot of opportunities to pick up some very good wins the rest of the season. They have to seize their opportunities by the throat and make the best of it.

I understand your position. You see more of Vanderbilt than me. But, if I were coach (thankfully, for us, I'm sure you'll agree, I'm not) Vanderbilt would have to show me they can beat me by driving the basketball.

Line opened UK -11.5, has been bet down to -10.

Not sure which side of this I want. Both of these teams are a bit of a mystery, UK because of youth and VU because of no Matthew Fisher-Davis.

Should be fun.

8pm tip.

It is interesting that the line has dropped by 2.5 points. UK by just 9 now

Most folks likely think the Cats will win but won't cover, coming off that big win over West Va. They likely think the Cats will have a letdown. It's possible. It's also possible Vandy could have a letdown after defeating TCU. It's possible the Cats could have a big letdown, but it seems to me that the win over WVA was a watershed moment for this UK team and I expect them to play very well. I also wouldn't be surprised to see Jarred Vanderbilt break through in the scoring column tonight with double digits. The Commodores lack a big time shot blocker inside and the Cats won the rebounding battle in Memorial pretty soundly. I think Cats cover the 11 and win comfortably.

Man, hard to believe you're not scared a little at hiring a Drew. I would be, especially if he comes in recruiting like he's actually at a good program. I know most of you are thinking it to yourself, what is he doing?

I didn't make the hire. I also don't care if he's cheating his balls off if he doesn't get caught, the rest of the SEC has done it my whole life (I have some UK stories for y'all if you ever want to hear them (rhymes with Fanthony Fepps)).

That said, he's a good man and it's just as likely that he's a pied piper who has a lot to sell (Vandy, Nashville, SEC, his staff, etc).

I do like that he rustles your jimmies though.

Cal moved him in practice to the bigs a couple of weeks ago, I think he's on it for sure.

Actually the line dropping 2.5 points, i would say Big money came in on Vandy and Vegas is trying to get some UK money to even it out. Just look at Vegas odds .com and see what % of money is on who. Now if most of the money is coming in on UK and it dropped, the ole reverse line movement is in effect.

We should be ready when it is time to play. This team already knows what can happen if you don't play hard at all times or not take someone serious. We will come out and keep them from shooting and hitting so many threes. Once we make them leave the 3 point line, what we do on the court should lead to Kentucky easily beating Vandy.

Yeah, I think this will be a pretty easy win. We should also be able to win @Mizzou Saturday.
It gets tougher after that.

Vandy doesnt have Higgins doing the Vandy @ UK game this year so hopefully that means they wont be within a bucket of beating us in the final minutes like last year

Stupid effin Higgins... That and the Cornell game in 2010 are the only games Cal has won with Higgins officiating... and Higgins tried his damnedest to help those two teams win...

Be careful talking about Higgins. He’s been know to sue. It’s a shame Tony’s not around anymore.

Not sure why Higgins was brought up but I had no idea that of the 5 UK games he’s officiated under Cal, 3 have been some of the more painful losses in UK history (2011 UConn FF game, 2015 Wisconsin FF game, 2017 UNC Elite 8 game) that we’re likely the biggest obstacle left between a title. Whether there’s a bias there or not, I’d prefer never to see that guy again.

“I also don't care if he's cheating his balls off if he doesn't get caught, the rest of the SEC has done it my whole life ...”

What I said was true. He's not my son and I'm not some sanctimonious prick who bases my fandom on some made up set of principles that don't actually exist (not saying you are or you do). The SEC and college sports are dirty, it is what it is.

I really don't care at all if he's cheating as long as he doesn't get caught. Unlike most, I'm honest (arguably to a fault). That said, I don't cheat and I don't raise my kids that way, but as a long suffering VU fan, knowing everybody else has, it wouldn't bother me in the slightest if we were also doing so.

College is a business, and a dirty one.

Just being part of the game is one thing but the fact that they've each had some of the most blatantly blown calls in critical moments is the alarming part.

UConn was a lopsided whistle and the infamous Napier flop that lead to the free throws essentially sealing the game

Wisconsin was a jump shooting team that tripled us up at the ft line when we were post and drives oriented team built on drawing contact on offense. And of course the infamous blown shot clock violation at 2 minutes letting them tie the game with Higgins staring at the clock.

2017 UNC (ugh) was the worst of the worst. A UNC team that was saved by whistles against Arkansas the round before. A UNC team that had cheated for 20 years and the NCAA already knew they were going to let them skate. 5 minutes into the game and 4 of our 5 starters are on the bench in foul trouble with Briscoe (the least valuable) the only starter remaining. We played 15 minutes (while they were in bonus) with our 5-9th men on the court and they wiped 4 points off the board with the worst O goaltending call I've ever seen and anover the back outback where the defender was under the basket. A game that was so bad the national media was joking the refs must of had UNC in their brackets while on air and the crew got a call at half time to straighten up. Limited the D we could play in the second half bc weneeded to play soft to stay on the floor.

If you’re condoning cheating, then you’re teaching your children to cheat.
