Seems to me that by the way it was worded maybe Vanderbilt said he was ready to go and that Cal wanted to see him on the floor to make that determination?

This is the wrong time of the year to re-enter him into the rotation. Chemistry. Maybe if we are up a ton...but not until the game is out of reach. JMHO. He is an offensive liability and chemistry right now is pretty good.

Now, yes.

To win a national title, you're going to need his rebounding and possibly his 5 fouls. Against a front line like Duke or A&M especially.

If we were talking about a guard or even a wing (like Knox), I would agree with holding him out due to chemistry and being an offensive liability.

But with his length, his rebounding ability, and the solid defense that he plays...I feel he could only help us provided he's used in spurts.

Plus, the 5 fouls will come in handy.

Believe me. We will need him. Maybe not this round coming up, but to win it all, we will. Gabriel and SKJ may be able to win the boards against Buffalo or Davidson, and will probably do fine against KSU as well, but come FF time were gonna need Vanderbilt down there.

Exactly. The chemistry issues usually stem from ball-dominant positions or players that shoot a lot, i.e. Michael Porter.

Vanderbilt is neither of those things. He is extremely unselfish and will only help this team.

Gotta have this dude to win this thing. Just need rebounding, defense and help side defense from him. Dirty work basically. Plus, it gives us another ball handler. He's a matchup nightmare. Would love to see him and Bagley battling for boards. That would be a war.

I am sorry I just don't see the kid from K State giving them much. Had a friend of mine he was tough as any one I ever met. Same injury and he tried in 3 weeks and just could not go on it this kid is trying to go on it in two weeks

Better to play our offensive juggernauts in SKJ and Richards...If we go a tad small, without SKJ or Richards, Vando allows us to even possibly upgrade rebounding while being more versatile guarding teams that also lack size. He ironically would have been an asset against Buffalo given they had inside guys that shot the ball from deep.

I’d like to see him “ease in” and play 8-10 minutes and test the ankle...

We will see him again. If not this round then in the FF.

Jumping the gun a bit, are we? We aren't guaranteed a spot in the Final Four. Providing we get through Kansas State and Loyola/Nevada, Gonzaga/Michigan will be TOUGH. I do NOT see Kentucky beating Michigan nor Gonzaga.
