He doesn't have to come in and immediately be a double-double guy, but if he can come in and be the Energizer Bunny and help the others to keep going when others quit. That would be great to see.

He will probably be a good player for us if he can play, but I'm not banking on the type of player that would instantly make our problems solved.

Hope he plays, if he can he needs to.

This will be the inspiration to play at a higher level. This will be like the Randle tweak on steroids. Lots of scared teams around the country. The most pathetic performance of the year was rock bottom. Now they will rise above all challengers. Pumped!!!!!!!!!

I have to believe Vanderbilt feels like he can do something about what he saw from his team last Saturday night.
The camera showed him a couple times and he was trying to urge his guys along and looked discouraged while doing so, like, "what's going on with you guys… " . I think that got to him a little bit and he knows he has to jump in and add some toughness. I like that.

I love it! Right after media sources put out multiple articles that they did not think he would play at all this season.

I said, through logical reasoning, that I believed JV would play within our first 4 SEC games because if he waited longer than that it would start to hurt his 2018 draft stock.

I have felt since the summer all star games that JV is our most talented in coming player and I still firmly believe that. He is the most physically ready of any of the freshmen and I’d debate anyone that he is the most talented right NOW. Knox might have slightly higher upside, but he doesn’t have the “it factor” that JV has. Kid is a star in the making.

To the doubters I say just watch. You will be believers very soon. Cal did not count him out on playing against A&M so I definitely expect to see him then. JV will show out against A&M and possibly start after that. I’m also expecting to see JV play some point forward as we get into the thick of the SEC as this will be his position at the next level. Much, MUCH better ball handler than any big on this team to date.

Cal confirms Jarred Vanderbilt is back on the practice court ... and has been really good.

“Jarred changed the practice today. He was so physical. ... It will be nice to get him back.”

Can't be, Cal must be lying. We've been told by posters on this board that JV isn't playing this year.

“But there’s no videos of him doing anything other than standing still shooting.”
“Means nothing.”
“Y’all he’s been doing this for weeks lol.”
“Y’all getting to worked up over this.”
“His foot isn’t healthy enough and he isn’t playing anytime soon.”

Vanderbilt has one of the most NBA ready bodies of any player Cal has had. He's in the Bam and Bledsoe realm. His handles and passing ability is exactly what this team needs. I dont expect for him to hit the ground running, that would be unfair, but I think he will. He is the type of player that can fit into a system quickly and provides so much versatility. This should push our other guys too as he can take minutes from SKJ, Washington, Knox, Gabriel, and Diallo. Practices are going to be great.

Feels like a season reboot. He has probably learned so much from watching. Any reason why he shouldn’t play some tonight, if he’s physically ready?

Hopefully the kid plays. It's getting really old seeing all the negative threads about him. Hoping that he plays and does well, so we can start seeing positive threads about him. Problem is I don't this kid will ever be able to satisfy some of our poster's even if he averages 20 points and 10 rebounds a game. At least give him a chance to get back into the flow before beating him down.
