Vance Watson is our new President - right now its interim, but will probably be permanent in the next few months (after a lengthy nation-wide search and thousands of dollars). Welcome Dr. Lee!
Hell, why not just give Keenum the job now? Is 3/4 years really going to make that much of a difference?State Sen. Jack Gordon, D-Okolona, a MSU alumnus, will "hate to see him leave."

"He's worked really hard and tried to do a good job."

Asked who might step in as a replacement, Gordon said, "I'd like to see Vance Watson."

Watson is MSU's vice president for agriculture, forestry and veterinary medicine.

"He would be an ideal president, and I could see him serving three or four years.

"Then we could get Mark Keenum," Gordon said, referring to U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran's long-time aide and the man Gordon lobbied for after then-MSU president J. Charles Lee announced his retirement in 2005.

"Keenum would be the right age to come in at that time."

If we look at it like that ... what does Mark Keenum know?
