Why would shu stop talking to the kid completely at one point through his injury? That's poor recruiting..you keep talking to your targets even if they're lower on the totem pole and you see how things work out. Hell at least slow play him..disappearing acts are how you lose your backup plans. And for a team like shu in need of big men..doubly pathetic.

I keep noticing lots of these recruits comment on how nice the staff is. It’s pretty refreshing to hear in today’s world.

Hard work plus being genuine good people will go a long way.

And if I'm Manual, they would not be on my list....unless they had a damn good explanation for why they stopped talking....and, there is none.

If Manuel ever commits to us many SHU fans will really have a meltdown. They were so upset when we beat them for Harper and they have thought forever that Manuel was going to be going to SHU.

Pikiell is one of the nicest persons I have ever met. He gets it. He understands everyone. He always finds time to speak with me when he sees me. He is just so nice to everyone. He is genuine. I am so glad he is our coach. It is no wonder that kids love him.

Manuel had some issues he had to work through which caused the delay in his signing. His guardian is John Allen.

Would love to know now that RU has 2 available if they would make a move on Alonzo Frink from Roselle Catholic.

I haven't heard much regarding him recruiting wise and he is a nice prospect IMO. Long athletic kid that can run.

I dont know if Frink is on anyone's radar right now...talented but maybe a prep year is needed to get things situated.

Frink was just recently offered by South Carolina and Georgetown. I think those were his first two high major offers

Little disappointed he went to SHU after they didn’t talk to him during his injury ... SHU did have the best season of the 3, but RU did win the rivalry game this year.
oh well...on to the next one

For those who keep asking for recruiting updates on local kids, it appears Seton Hall verbal, Valdir Manuel (Patrick School) may not sign by the May 16th deadline for Spring signers....(uncertain on if he will be 100% eligible)...if the players signs, he takes one of the available spots for a team but SHU and the player are not bound to each other, as long as there is no Letter of Intent signed.

The player could remain committed to the school in hopes of becoming a certain enrollee without signing by Wednesday but the school can pursue other options as could Manuel.
