Not a bad start. Utah is huge. We will see this a lot this year. Udowu and Dalger are tough.

Biggest problem with rebounding right now is Utah is missing so bad everything is ending up back at the 3 point line and their guards are just getting after it harder than ours right now

9 offensive rebounds for Utah already. Just big and good shooters and defend the paint with 7footer.

Most of those offensive rebounds we had no one even in the area. Looks a lot like game 1 and 2

We’re missing those bunnies, they’re going halfway down and popping out, at this point we might as well be shooting threes. I agree with II on the boards, the Utah shots are missing and popping out 15-20 feet while our guys are at the basket. That resulted in a 26-14 rebounding deficit. We’re really doing well to be only down 9. If we can start hitting some shots and the refs can call the obvious muggings we should be right in this.

Have to have a better shooting percentage to win and fight on every defensive possession. I may get removed from the board for saying this but Haywood’s last three was textbook perfect. I would give him some more chances tonight.

This is the type of team I think all of us were concerned about this TU team playing. We match up very poorly with this size.

If Haywood has learned and accepted his role on this team he can be a huge help.

His length and speed on defense are solid, he also understands the box out (something very few college players do today). An example of his good box out, he was on Carlson but instead of trying to jump and get the rebound he ensured that Carlson couldn't get to the ball without fouling. It allowed TU to collect the rebound.

I don't want to see him taking that guarded fadeaway 2 though

Utah is just a really good team. It would take our best shooting to beat them tonight. Griffin a little off.

Would like to see how they handle full court press but we don’t have one.
Haith plays just to play. Stays with only what he knows. No imagination or creativity because that requires time and hard work.

I'm more pissed after watching this game than the AF debacle. It only shows how far Tulsa is from a quality NCAA team that can do some damage. Those years are over. We only want to try and sniff Tourney talk.

We did fine until the technical took us out of any chance. Great effort against a better team. Griffin a little off or we are right there at the end. Good coaching by Utah and good use of portal by them. Not upset with the team on this one at all. We play like this we beat Air Force by 15.

Our shooting was off. Our minor players tried to run the offense through them not out outside shooters
Lots of chances but the length of U and rebounding combined with near misses on shooting made this loss happen but in my mind not inevitable
We will look back and realize at large was lost tonight
Utes got all of the calls resulting in a T on Haith that sealed the loss
Disappointing but not as bad as Air Force

regroup and beat a bad Little Rock team Friday and yes a bad ORU team Monday in the pit of hell known as the Mabee Center

Any result short of NIT should be the last year for Haith
Terrible coaching tonight

I probably saw a lot more positives this weekend than most. Tim Dalger will be a player for us. the first couple of games he was a little out of control but this weekend he played with control and intensity, I wish he had gotten more minutes against the Utes. I’m usually a “work it inside” guy but we should have bombed away tonight. Our layups were rimming out and if we find our range from deep it could have been a different game. My crunch time lineup would be Griffin, Pritchard, Horne, Dalger and Idowu, I think that is our best 5 for scoring and rebounding.

Jackson is so much better than Pritchard at this point in their careers, I would have him in for crunch time. The others are correct.

Probably. But bringing an A game (more or less) against an actual good team still doesn't even get us within ten when the buzzer rings, and that is what I think most people are upset about. I agree it was a good effort and I am not mad at the team in any way. Just frustrated.
