The MLS really kills some of these guys with the season shutting down. I am glad they are switching. There is such an opportunity in the spring with MLB and basically the end of basketball.

Someday, America will realise just how lame baseball is. It really is a god awful sport to watch.

Hope the owners grow balls and add/promotion relegation (don't go expansion). It would be the ultimate separator. In America, we reward people with sucking with the best young players. In the rest of the world, you get kicked out and sold off. American owners love their monopolies while claiming to be hardcore badass capitalists.

Weah and Reyna are both better options than Tillman as starting MFs. And why has everyone forgotten Jedi? Are we sure his injury will keep him out. WC ‘26?

Fair enough but I don't know which direction he would go. A Robinson is yet to be proven fit.

Unfortunately, Reyna isn't. I guilty of the Reyna bias too. Now, I am given up on him.

He isn't starting on his Bundesliga Team that is hanging in 12th. Malik starts all the time for his team in 3rd. You should ponder that.

I just know what I saw out of Reyna in this last international slot. He was fantastic. He’s better than Berhalter but maybe less durable/less physical than Berhalter is. Tillman’s a nice player but I just don’t find anything he does to be dynamic. He’s solid but that’s about his best attribute (IMO).

World Cup draw today: US in group D out of Pot 1. Australia drawn into their group out of Pot 2. This is a best case for US as Australia is probably the worst of the second 12 teams. We'll know if the draw is rigged based on the next 2 if FIFA is trying to rig the draw and make sure the US gets out of the group stage.

I think the US Got a good draw. Paraguay might be the best competition in the group. We got the weakest group in the European playoffs In the 4th spot. I or L should vie for the group of death.

Arguably, the US has a relatively challenging group with no gimmes. But with 48 teams no group of death exists.

The only worry I have in this group is that Aussie thug who twice laid out CP in that "friendly" a few months ago. Put him on the shelf for 5 weeks. Avoid this dude & we might win the group, 2nd at least.

Today, CP solidifies the simple fact that AC Milan is his team. Yesterday, he has flu-like symptoms and does not go with his team to Turin for a Serie A match. He feels better this morning and joins the team on the bench. Milan go down 2-0 in the 1st half. Milan get a goal back and Pulisic enters in the 66th minute. 35 seconds later he scores to tie it up. 10 minutes later he scores again to take the lead & the win for Milan.

He leads the team in scoring (with 7 in league play & 9 in all comps) and assists & is 2nd or 3rd in scoring in the league, and...he has missed 5 or 6 games with injury. Is this guy world class? Anyone who doubts it doesn't now "bleep". He keeps Milan tied for 1st in Serie A. Oooooh, do we need this guy healthy for the WC!

My wife tried to tell me that Landon Donovan has done more than Christian Pulisic and started comparing him to Freddy Adu. I started screaming and cussing at her and said to her that it is questionable whether F'ing lando would see the field for the US team.

He is crushing for AC right now and damn near scored in the Champions League final. Lando was at Bayer Leverkusen for 5 years and saw 7 appearances. This is not a joke. Then dropped out of the national team because of a "mental health" issue. I hate listening to that guy on TV. It is so ridiculous. He is monotone and says nothing interesting. He scored one great goal in the World Cup, which is why we talk about him as an iconic figure. He really isn't that relevant. In the grand scheme of things, this generation is doing way more because youth soccer development is light-years ahead of where it once was, and the players are just better. ***Rant over***

RETURN OF THE JEDI! Robinson played the full 90 in his return to Fulham’s side today in a 3-1 win over Burnley. He should have added a 4th goal as well as he set up a nice play and the ball back to the middle go misplayed by Burnley leaving a sitter to Robinson from about 12 yards and he skied it over the goal. Hopefully he can stay fit and he can be part of the intense pre-WC schedule the US is playing in March and May.

CRAP! Adams just got hurt in Bournemouth's game vs Man United. Less than 2 minutes in and it looked like they were looking at his knee (they were doing the ACL tests on the field). Adams walked off but Bournemouth took him off and replaced him. Hoping maybe it was a simple hyperextension and not something worse. He was gimping off the field and on the sideline immediately following.

This really sucks! It's a suspected MC ligament tear. If so, he can forget the rest of the season & of course the WC. He was 2nd in the Prem in interventions & top 10 in tackles. Man Utd had been eyeballing him closely.

Maybe, maybe not. Remember Pulisic wasn't starting for Dortmund at the end of his time there either and Chelsea still went in on him. Wasn't Tuchel the manager at the end of his time at Dortmund too? Some managers just aren't keen on certain players for whatever reason. Pulisic certainly proved Tuchel was wrong not Pulisic. I'm glad England hired Tuchel because there's a really good chance that Tuchel is going to flub up the 3 Lions by playing the wrong players and his favorites over the best 11 they have available.

Watching a full slate of EPL games today. Jedi is featuring for Fulham today. Jedi goes 73' as a wide MF. They just conceded an equalizer up a man vs Chelsea. Little bit unlucky for Fulham. Pulisic played about 20' coming on as a sub for Milan so his injury recovery seems to be on track right now after the hamstring issue in the last int'l window. AC Milan is still near or at the top of the table.

Aaronson has scored 2 goals in Leeds' last 2 games. Unfortunately, Leeds has conceded the equalizer in those games less than 5' later. Aaronson is getting about 70-75' in those games, coming off for a sub because of Leeds' frenetic pressing style. Aaronson's energy is always creating pressure and not something you would expect him to carry on for a full 90.

A couple of defensive gaffs by Leeds late in the game causes a 4-3 loss, but does not detract from Aaronson's brace. He is tied for the Prem. lead for goals in 2026 with 3 (vs Man Utd & Newcastle) plus 1 assist. Who would have thunk it? Pochettino surely must be watching.

Leeds can generate goal scoring chances with the best in the league, unfortunately they play defense like a Sunday over 40 men's league team.

Here's some futbol news during the TU Hoops swoon: Wes McKinnie is lighting it up for Juve. He's scored 7 goals, with 3 of those in the ChLg, along with 4 assists in only 22 appearances. His contract is up this season & Juve are now trying to sign him, for a change. A possible reunion with Pulisic as Milan are eyeing him as well as a couple other Serie A clubs & EPL teams. From 2.5 mill. euros to 4 mill is possible if he sticks w/ Juve or possibly more if he goes elsewhere. Some team could get him on a free xfer if he doesn't sign with Juventus. Hope it's Milan.

But also chatter that Pulisic is interested in moving to the EPL.

I've heard Inter Milan (not AC) is interested in McKennie as well as 3-4 EPL teams that are more mid-table teams and not the Arsenal's of the world. Which is fine. McKennie in a place like Fulham, Forest, Leeds, or Bournemouth would give those teams a rugged MF with skill that they are missing right now.

Pulisic would do well to stick with AC Milan.

CP will likely stick w/ Milan IF! they qualify for ChLg, and that goes for any other club eyeballing him. In the EPL, only Liverpool is a lock for that, and with interest in Pulisic since Salah will likely be gone by next season. Don't know about McKennie's feelings for the ChLg but imagine they're the same as Pulisic's. If so, Juve has some work to do to qualify.

I don’t see how Salah is going to leave since Liverpool just signed hI’m to an extension and any transfer fee might not be feasible. I see Slot being asked to leave Anfield before Salah is shown the door (and rightfully so…Slot isn’t a great coach but had great success because he was given a great roster last season).

Josh Sargent is coming to MLS and will be playing for Toronto FC. Toronto paid a $27M transfer fee to Norwich City for him. Norwich probably feels like they might be getting relegated out of the championship as they only sit a few points above that line right now. Big move for MLS. Not quite like Dempsey going to Seattle but close in that Sargent is still in his prime and has been in good form in the EFL.

Are you kidding me? Dempsey's transfer fee was around 9 million. The transfer fee is 3x for a player at Norwich City. He is probably 3rd or 4th among US strikers right now and may not even make the US World Cup squad.

An MLS side is willing to pay that kind of money now on a decent but not great shows you just how much the league has grown up.

There is inflation to consider as Dempsey’s transfer was 15 yrs ago. Sargent just went for $27M but it also shows how well MLS is doing when Sporting KC spends a record transfer amount for a USL player (they plucked Taylor Calheira from FC Tulsa last week for what is a record transfer amount from MLS for a player from the USL Championship).

I don’t think Sargent is really going to turn Toronto around. They’re pretty bad. And Sargent is a striker that needs good service and Toronto’s MF isn’t really great at that. He would have done better in New England with Carlos Gil serving things in
