The original 8 teams or so, you got a favorite?

I remember it being hellafun in the early/mid 80s. It was really good football. Can it be again?

Rozier played for the Pittsburgh Maulers and then the Jacksonville Bulls.

It was really good football.

Michigan Panthers. Cool helmets, unusual colors, John Corker and Anthony Carter (who wisely took the $$) 1st league champion.
Lots of fun!
Go Blue!

They should have a bigger real leather ball that - stop the presses - might get lopsided, scratched, whatever. Instead of a synthetic dart that can be thrown 30 yards per second with 98% accuracy.

Real football is about running. With passing as a big risk.

The Boston Breakers had the territorial rights to Nebraska Cornhuskers...Not sure why, but they had a few Huskers on that team....Of course after year 1, they moved to New Orleans and then in year 3 moved to Portland.

They might be competing against the ncaa model.
If you have legit nfl potential why bother with academics?

Back to NOLA now. BTW all USFL games will be in Birmingham this season.

I had to admit to myself, I need football all the time.

The WFL had helmet cams and miked up QB's so we could hear the play calls.

Correct!

Here's a trivia question. Who was their starting center at least for the first year or two?

Lived in Jersey the summer of 1984 and went to a couple of Generals games to watch Herschel Walker and Brian Sipe. Hotter than hell, but a fun time.

Original USFL was a fun league. And, I understand limiting expenses and travel costs but why will someone in New Jersey, Tampa, Arizona, etc support "their" team when all games are in Alabama.

All of the teams are east of the Mississippi except Houston, so a road trip is possible. However if they cared about that, play the games in Nashville not Birmingham. I suspect it's all about TV ratings... if it does well enough they move to home stadiums next year.
