USC vs A&M

Personally would much rather face USC. But they are extremely hot the past 3 games
But looking through their only three ranked series and other notable midweeks:
So in matchups prior to NCAA tournment with top 50 RPI opponents they were 2-11. Would much rather play them than A&M who has been a top 8 year all year and are top 10 by a lot of metrics

Oregon State (Midweek) L 4-12
UCSB (Midweeks): Split W 7-6 and L 1-5
UCLA: Got Swept 4-12, 8-9, 4-10
Nebraska: Got swept 7-8, 2-12(F/7), 6-16 (F/8)
Oregon: Lost Series W 2-1 (F/11), L 3-4, L 5-6 (F/14)
UCLA (B10 Tournament): L 5-7

USC has very good left handed pitching. Really doesn't matter who we prefer they play one game winner take all tomorrow.
Not sure if this has been discussed in other threads, but one A&M's best pitchers Aiden Sims is done for the season. It sounds like they we're hoping he'd be able to go this weekend but they had to shut him down. Hate it for the kid but certainly helps our path to Omaha if we get A&M
Later game tonight, wish it was a little earlier. We will find out more about USC’s pitching, they will need it. At this stage both need strong efforts on the mound.

If the Heels pitch, hit and field like they did this weekend, I don't have any concerns about who they play.
It doesn’t matter, we are going to whoop their a** anyway. I feel like our boys are on a mission.
USC (the real one) has had a better RPI than aTm for a few weeks now. Think they would be slightly tougher but both would be roughly equally tough tbh. USC would bring fewer fans I’d assume?
We owe Texas A&M payback for beating us 14-2 in the regional final in College Station in 1993. Hard to think of any payback angle for USC.
Can't imagine he'd throw a ton. He threw 85 pitches Saturday. I won't be surprised if he's available but I can't imagine the number is very high.

Yes they threw off. And led 4-3 going into the 9th before giving up a 2-run bomb so it almost worked how they wanted.
So without blowing a lead in the 9th USC would have already won the regional? Seems like they are the better team.
Based on how the SEC and Big10 have performed in the tournament so far, I’d prefer to play the Big10 team.
Watching the game now and just don’t know what to think. A&M does have a great offense, but USC seems to have a great defense. Either team is going to be a tougher out than Arizona was last year.

Arizona was on an absolute heater, and we beat ourselves pre than they just flat out beat us.
You know how much I respect your opinion. Obviously both A&M and USC are considerably better than Arizona. Do you think we match up better with one or the other, or is it a pick your poison kind of thing?
I definitely disagree that this year’s team is better than last year’s. That team was so dang good, which is why that Arizona series hurts so bad.
I feel our offense is more balanced this year. But yes, last year's team was amazing as well.

USC would have to travel 3 time zones vs A&M traveling just one. Makes a difference.
He's got a 1.85 ERA and 1.00 WHIP. 164 SO in 327 AB. All outstanding.
He's 8-0, but he also has 16 starts. I don't know if it's their bullpen or the lack of run support, but, at 8-0, it's clear the rest of the team isn't matching his production.
I was today years old when I realized USC has the most CWS titles of all time (12).

The CWS used to be dominated by West Coast and old PAC 12 teams. CSU Fullerton. USC. Fresno State. Arizona. Arizona State. Cal. Stanford. Oregon St. A lot of good baseball out west.
Heard that during the broadcast... and immediately wondered how long college baseball has been around! I don't remember them winning one in my lifetime. For good reason, after looking it up, they've only won once since I was old enough to remember anything, lol.
