Where have you gone Pete Carroll? USC turns its lonely eyes to you...honestly how hard can it be to be at least decently successful at USC? Talented kids move to Orange County from all over the country to play for the private schools there in the hopes of going to USC. Recruiting isn't even an issue.
Well the USC AD was at Cincy beforehand and hired Fickell on the recommendation of Gene Smith. Not Fickell’s typical geography being in Ohio his whole career but USC does recruit itself like essentially. Just needs to toughen them up like Cincy.

What an odd list. The two you mentioned I guess make the most sense. Schiano, Franklin, Cristobal no way. RTB might jump but his wife loves it there and he may not be big enough, his team being unranked. Then a bunch of retreads, I don't know. Would think they'd be swinging for the fences, but they're a strange bunch over there. Had no interest in Orgeron when he was interim.
I think image and personality still matter at USC. So GS, Fickell, O’Brien would be bad choices. I could see Franklin there - he can recruit. Could also see Urban considering after he realizes he hates the NFL and he’s not good there.

Do you follow the issues with the PAC 12 network? They are making crap? Big difference. USC doesn't bring Rutgers money in.
Yet they no longer bring eyeballs to the TV or people buying a subscription. The PAC 12 TV Network is going to fold at the end of the contract IIRC in 2023. They are Nebraska 2.0. No one cares anymore.

Nebraska is located in Nebraska so they have no hope of reaching anywhere near their level of past glory, USC is in a hugely popular warm weather location in a state with a large number of top recruits.
