I find it ridiculous that they even have bracketology so early..and its been going on since January 1. Unfortunately it looks like this year is an extremely weak year for the bubble, the expansion to 68 plays a role but the lack of deserving schools this year is really off the charts

I hope the hall has lost enough lately. Those impressive wins had them a near shoe in, but their overall record now makes an NIT not a sure thing

I think the Hall needs to be at least .500 in conference, no?

I think the main reason that the bubble is very weak is because all the P5 teams have been plucking off the best players from the mid-majors for the last couple of years and it will probably only get worse as time goes on.

I don’t know if that is required, but it certainly would be a negative if they are below it

I was looking at the current overall record, and I would guess they need to almost win out now

Their big loss to Nebraska will be considered a “bad loss” when all is said and done.

And because the top mid-major level teams got "called up" to better conferences.

Louisville, Marquette, and Memphis used to be in CUSA. Temple and Xavier used to be in the A10. Utah was in the MWC. Butler was in the Horizon. Wichita State and Creighton were in the MVC.

So it's not a giant surprise that those leagues are getting many fewer bids than they used to.

Very true. Good point.

I feel like this is the perception every year about the bubble. Hard to remember a year where the consensus was that the bubble was strong.

Last year didn't a 20 win B1G school not make it? Not a strong bubble year?

Kentucky and Maryland...ooc wins are huge
----
I agree, those wins would be a huge plus...

but they are sitting at 13-9 overall.....the NIT doesn't even like that overall record, how could the NCAA?

they have to get close to 20, a few Big east tourney wins could get them close.....

Nebraska had very little on the OOC resume...its extremely important . Conference record supposedly is not a factor at all

I don't know if people considered it strong or not. Go back to BAC's posts leading up to the selection and it seems likely it was a weak bubble year.

I seriously doubt a team struggling to have a winning season would be selected for the NCAA Tournament. There simply are too many teams that will have better records.Look what happened to Nebraska last season winning 20 games and received no bid.

It's about about the conference record. A .500 in this league gives you a chance. It's not likely, but we are still a chance.
