I don't have an issue with Jordan, but Kenneth Farried should have received a spot. His game is built for international basketball. My biggest concern is that both Jordan and Drummond are atrocious free throw shooters. Their rebounding and defense will both be very important. But every once in a while they will have to hit free throws.

N/M I thought Drummond made the team. Apparently he didn't. One terrible FT shooter is fine. We won't need him on the court in close games.

Faried probably would have been a better pick than Barnes for the final spot.

Who would you have be the lead guards?
The problem is that the best PGs all declined to participate. Steph Curry, Westbrook, Paul, Lillard and Wall all would have been better options, but declined an invite. All but Westbrook had injury issues.

So that really left Irving, Lowry, and then maybe Reggie Jackson, Kemba Walker, Jrue Holiday, or Mike Conley as your next options. Out of that group I have no problem with Irving and/or Lowry. Both are top-10 PER for point guards so they should fill in just fine. And Irving played great for the USMNT in 2014.

A lot of the defensive game in the international is chasing bigs all the way out to the three point line. So Jordan and Drummond will likely share minutes at Center. Boggie will struggle at times wit this as well. Green is the perfect international player. Extremely versatile on both ends and extremely dirty!!!!! Klay Thompson should absolutely kill it (like he did in the World's) from international 3pt range. Plus, Carmelo for some reason, takes his game to another level during international play. I think he has several scoring records for the US and World Play!

Exactly, that's why I was asking him.

Drummond isn't on the team. Boogie and Jordan are the centers, with Green being the only NBA power forward. Happened due to a lot of guys not coming but looks a lot like "positionless basketball." Two point guards, two centers, and a lot of guys who can play almost everything in between.

If the game plan is similar to 2012, then Melo will be the go to guy, guards can get theirs in transition and the bigs will play clean up. Be interested to see how Cousins fits into that.

Get this, the best scorers in US men's International play are Durant and Melo! Both are #1 and #2 in points scored in one tournament and with amount scored in a single game. Cousins is among the leaders in FG% and just a side note, Davis is one of the leaders in shots blocked playing in two tournaments (Olympics and World Cup). Irving actually posted some of the best stats ever overall for a PG...

The PG I think they miss, is CP3, guy still gets it done and is a vet.
