of course he does, his receivers coach, er, I mean, he doesn't remember, his health issues you know. Who are the women beaters that TO feigned not being able to remember and then did his best to destroy any evidence as to those beatings? I love the responses about TO, it's the sign of a strong mind.

2 of them during our championship 90s.

But but but...

Hell yes. A proven winner.

I dont care about the fake moral superiority of the fans.
Proven loser, also

a literal laughing stock in the men’s league

granted, we play division 2 football now (B1G) so I’m sure he would appease the simpletons

of which there are many

Urban would be a short timer at best, then the new "follow the legend" coach would probably fade after a few years and get fired. And so it goes.
So don’t go after a legendary coach that can revive a dead program because the next one might suck??? Sound logic.

Selling your soul to the devil for a flash-in-the-pan result is not good for the long term of the program. I value dignity and character over sleaze and malfeasance (ACT word of the day).
WTF man! LP and, uh, oh yeah, Peters brothers!! You must really hate TO, derp derp derpity derp.

Urban Meyer does come with baggage and if he were to become HC at Nebraska I feel he would only be here a short while but he would get the ball rolling. You get Meyer here and when he leaves you install a coach who wins and produces and those type coaches would come calling you, you wouldn't have to make many calls. Nebraska has so many things a great coach would love, a fantastic supportive fan base, fantastic facilities and a great safe family atmosphere in Lincoln and pretty good outdoor activities and not too bad winter weather on average.

Tom Osborne used his influence to get his players out of trouble, so even he did things that were questionable from a moral perspective.

I'm sure even Tom listened to that little devil sitting on his left shoulder telling him "You can win with him but it's going to be hard without him" and Tom had that little Angel on his right shoulder telling him "Don't do it Tom" :)

Assumng he did, nobody's nose is clean. But to pretend that someone who supported TO has no room to be ctitical of Urb is flat out stupid. The wrap sheet on Urb is pretty impressive. The false equivalency is comical. Watching husker fans get defensive because they so badly need the huskers to be relevant again, is weird.

T.O. Had very much a “boys will be boys” mentality and also a “put them on the right path” approach. I worked in that office for 5 years. You can’t understand his approach to LP without understanding how he handled Scott Baldwin.
Also, if you don’t think TO covered **** up, I have a mountain to sell you in Lincoln. Just ask a few baseball players from the 90s about getting curb stomped by FB team members at a party

**** wasn’t just covered up by TO. Covered by boosters, cops, admin, AD, literally everyone in that town. Everything from slashing cop tires, brawls in bars involving cops, assaults of all kinds, people taking tests for players.

Little to none of it was ever reported or discussed.

We should add in his contract he can kick walk ons any time he feels the need as long as his win % remains good lol.
And that he can boogie with all the coeds he wants as long that they’re 18 and not dating a player or married to a booster?

You left off county prosecutors and state AG from the “willing to overlook things” list.

Not discussed, you mean except through the entirety of the school, all of the bars, and all of Lincoln?

The county attorney at the time, Gary Lacy, once commented about how he didn't tell TO how to run the football team, how we wished that TO would show him the same courtesy.

Sure it was discussed all over town. But if you were there, you know as well as I do that no one really gave a ****. Long as you produced on Saturdays. Not discussed meaning in a national, meaningful, should something be done kind of way. The only time it got that sort of airing was LP because we were in a natty game.

Urban most likely isn’t going to sign on at Nebraska, so I’m not too worried about him performing miracles.

I am missing the point. **** happened when TO was coach? Is there anyone saying differently?

Murderers win natties. Just ask Miami...
Someone brought up Thunder Collins. And there's LP's cellmate. Let the damn morally righteous just shut up already. Not every football player will turn out to be who we hope they will be.

What is this based on? That embarrassing lap dance at a bar? I heard a lot worse about Carl Pelini, for instance.
