Yes, I would hire him. Jacksonville was a bad fit for a guy that was a complete winner at the college level. Remember when Saban was a failure with the Dolphins?

He would bring back the culture from the 90’s, that’s for sure! Scumbags win football games in NE tbf

Nick Saban just signed a deal that's going to eventually pay him nearly $13/million a year. We would have to offer Urban one hell of a premium over that to get him to even consider taking a job where a Top 5 recruiting class isn't practically guaranteed - I'd guess we'd have to offer $17 to $20/million year to get him to even take the phone call.

The NFL was not a good fit for Saban or Meyer. They're college coaches - period.

With that said, he's a POS as a human being but take this to the bank - he'd have Nebraska back in the top 10 in a heartbeat. His strength is recruiting and dealing with kids and their parents. The guy was born to be a college coach.

What does football matter to the state of Nebraska? Pretty close to what football matters to the state of Alabama. It's actually shocking that NU has allowed itself to become such a **** show. Just offer 9 million/year (puts him in the top 5 nationally) for 3 years. See what happens. I think that amount is doable.

Character issues and he hid a LOT of Gator shenanigans of upstanding citizens like Aaron Hernandez out of the media. Would be a matter of time before he brought shame onto the program.

The difference between Alabama and Nebraska is their recruiting base. Do a 500 mile radius for both and look at the HUGE difference

It's the same reason Urban Meyer will never be coach at Nebraska. His strength is recruiting

Exactly. Which is why they didn't go dredge up a legacy of the Bear Bryant era and hired the best college football coach available for whatever it cost.
Ironically, Nick Saban did not start out as an elite coach. He had a very average record when he was coaching at Michigan State.

He's such a scumbag but someone will overlook all of his transgressions and offer him a job.

Urban Meyer is not a fan of 1K running backs. He had his first I heard at OSU in 2013. He also lost B1G games to West opponents in 2017 and 2018.

He had one hell of a 2014 team at Ohio State, but not so sure coaching is his best thing these days.

I disagree, he will be primed to get back into coaching give him 8 mil and he grabs it. Is he scum, yes, but so is frost and he can't coach!

Offer Urban $20 million a year. And guarantee every player on the travel roster gets $50k a year in NIL.

Rip on Urban now. However, If he were to come here, 5 percent of the husker faithful would be questioning his ethics. 95 percent would be creaming in thier pants. 90 percent of those creaming would not admit it. Now pretend that he is a Nebraska alum. 100 percent would say that he is a good hire. (And he would be) Get his *** here now and pay him what he wants.

I believe Urban would indeed come here to resurrect this program, which he has publicly stated great respect for. It would be another huge notch in his belt, and I think he would surely do it. He's not getting younger and this would be a good gig for him for awhile.

Public opinion has turned too much on Urban. We'd get the neutered version of him which would be better than Scott but nothing like what he was at Florida or Ohio State.

Urban is waiting for a place like Texas to open up. Possibly Notre Dame.
ND just hired a new coach and Kelly left that program in relatively good shape. That opening is likely years away.
Sarkisian has been getting some big recruits and has a flood of talent to work with. They will get smoked by Alabama but I can easily see them beating OU and having a relatively great year. He's also only on his second or third year (forget which). Again, waiting for this job might be a long wait.
