Day has a well stocked cupboard, as tOSU was Rivals 3, 2 and 2 from 2016-18. They won't be at that level this year and are currently one slot behind NU.
This may well be a blessing in disguise for the Bucknuts if Day has the goods to be a P5 HC. Urban's situation has been a distraction for the program. The big Q is does Haskins declare for the NFL. That would leave a hole in the roster, but the backup is a 6.0/4* per Rivals.
Why? He's in the playoff... I doubt his seat gets hot unless he does something stupid. You don't fire a coach that gets you to the playoff.
I don’t think it was “pulling the same stuff” at Florida. I think the guy is full tilt always and it takes its toll on his health. He thought he could manage it but ultimately he can’t.
Did Snyder officially retire yet? I didn’t see any statements by him.
We are talking about Notre Dame here. The program with their own network, and the easiest path the the playoff. Kelly’s seat has been hot before. If they are embarrassed on national TV again on the biggest stage, and a guy who has won 3 NCd at 2 schools (who is a former assistant at ND) is available, you think they don’t make that move?
The crickets are loud down there.
This one is real though as he had procedures on his brain cyst and was in pain many times on the sidelines during games. Just wonder, though, how much the Zach Smith/suspension played into his decision.FWIW, Some of the speculation was his health was being questioned, but he pulled the same stuff when leaving Florida...
I'm not saying that's a zero percent chance, but I do'nt think I'd go so far as to say "there isn't any doubt". It is possible that when the other issues arise, that compounds his stress level, but if you saw him take a knee and grab his head, that wasn't acting. The guy is in poor health and it seems to be due to stress. I don't think he's long for this world operating like that and I hope for his own health that he can get it under control. So it’s just coincidence then that all the really serious problems happen when **** is unraveling a bit in his perfect little world? There isn’t any doubt that it is stressful as hell as a head coach at a P5. There isn’t any doubt he sells the **** out of it to turn himself into a victim.
He went 4-8 2 years ago and didnt get fired. Since then he has gone 22-3. He ain't getting fired if they lose by 100.No I don't. His seat gets possibly hot in years to come if he has what "ND" considers a down year (like 9-3). I agree with you that there is delusion at ND about what they are and their standards, but if he is in the playoff or sniffing it, I doubt they make a move. I also think Urban is going to be in TV for a bit.
I saw somewhere (I haven't looked up to confirm) that Big 10 money is significantly higher than ND and their own TV contract. If true, that is a huge misconception that having their own TV deal is this huge benefit.

Interesting about the money issue. I have no idea, and frankly don’t want to look it up... is what ND makes less than each individual B1G institution once the money is divided up? It sounds like that is what you are saying... correct? No I don't. His seat gets possibly hot in years to come if he has what "ND" considers a down year (like 9-3). He's done. The announcement was without much fanfare, I guess unless you live in the little apple.
3 BIG championships but realistically 4 as he went undefeated his first year and was not allowed to compete in bowls or even the NC as he inherited Tressel's sanctions. Heck of a record for Day to try and follow. As an OSU alumnus and living in Columbus this is no surprise. It was either now or one more year. I think this was decided a couple of weeks ago. He seemed very relaxed during Michigan week and the Big 10 championship. When we was first hired in 2012 I thought he had a 7-10 year timeline.
82-9, 3 Big Ten Championships and 1 National Championship. Not a bad 7 year gig.

Serious Clark? They're dillusional thenHe's done. The announcement was without much fanfare, I guess unless you live in the little apple.

Kelly wants an NFL gigThat’s probably the odds on favorite, but I still wonder if Brian Kelly’s seat gets hot after Clemson embarrasses Notre Dame in a few weeks.
Kelly will go to NFL as soon as he can. ND is a tough job to win at today and he's taken them as far as anyone can get them.We are talking about Notre Dame here. The rumor is that Snyder was forced out. Thus the lack of fanfare.

Like who ? That school would recruit well if Elmer Fudd was their coach. Good like there.any chance we go after some tOSU recruits?
I don't think he has as much of a bad rep as you and many on this board think. Read the comments from national outlets and the views on Urban Meyer are overwhelmingly positive. I think it's just this board and other fans in the Big 10 that have their panties in a wad, but nationally Urban Meyer is viewed positively. He’s got an ego, and Athetic Directors want to win. One thing always heals bad rep. Time. The damage control on his rep begins as soon as the clock expires in the Rose Bowl.
They have already had 2 decommit so farLike who ? That school would recruit well if Elmer Fudd was their coach. Good like there.
The consensus narrative is that college football is losing a great coach and a brilliant mind of the game but not a good person. Is that fair to say?

This makes me chuckle. You have been harder on Riley than Meyer. As far as good goes, Riley was a good person when compared to Meyer. How is he not a good person?
