Simple as they're anticipating what JG's decision will be April 15 and want him in gear if it comes to pass. Doesn't mean anything more than that I'd guess.

Ya know what really tears at my heart...

It's the vision of OP, fingers poised eagerly over the keyboard, goofy grin on his face, thinking, "Oh, boy! This is gonna be great!"

It's just sad.

I hope not but knowing this place it's not out of the realm of possibility.

From what I remember of the OP, I'm going with it's a real question. Don't think there was an malice intended.

Oh, don't get me wrong - I never thought it was malicious. I thought it was meant to be funny. But see, it really wasn't. That was my point.

Now, that's just my opinion of course. It could be hysterically funny to others.

You posted to the wrong board.
The cap and jersey belong to fired Vols men's hoops coach, 1st year guy Donnie Tyndall.
More bad behavior from the Wild West Tennessee Athletics Dept.
First Bruce Pearl, now this cowboy.
Funny business from football program is probably next.
AD will probably get his walking papers for this embarrassment.
Will no doubt hire Boss Hogg to replace Tyndall.

I know that Tennessee is a competitor for recruits with us now, but you can still show a little rational honesty instead of twisting the facts. Tyndall was fire because of stuff he did at Southern Miss. It had nothing to do with Tennessee.

hiwater ...

See linked article. An excerpt. Tyndall is not a first time offender.

Hart said the university knew about NCAA recruiting violations Tyndall received during his time as head coach of Morehead State, his alma mater.

In an interview with WBIR in April, Tyndall said the violations at Morehead were a one-time thing.

"It was an honest mistake. My athletic director worked with me hand in hand the entire time. They believed it was an honest mistake, which it was. I've learned from it. I don't expect it to happen again," Tyndall said in April 2011.

We now know he's accused of misconduct at Southern Mississippi University, where he coached after Morehead.

Hart said he won't be hiring anyone else with NCAA baggage.

Wouldn't it make more sense for the hats to be delivered to the recruit's house, if their family ordered them, not the school?

i'd guess sending to a recruit is a violation. It could also be that JG had no knowledge they were sending it.

As I said I think Tenn sent it in hopes he picks them April 15.
