Not sure how accurate these are, but shows some pretty drastic changes from last year to this year. Our oline this year would be averaging about 320lbs, compared to 295lbs last year for th same 5 players.

Few interesting ones:
-Tyjon Lindsey from 160 to 200. Stanley is also listed at 200, and McQuitty at 205.
-Barnett now up 15 more lbs to 330. Weren’t they trying to slim him down?
-Daishon Neal up 35 to 310, Freedom at 295
-Ziggy up to 235, again thought he was slimming down?
-Damion Daniels largest listed at 340lbs

Overall the returning scholarship players listed gained 800lbs

Some huge leaps on there. I like the 210 pounds on Jaylin Bradley... he added 30 pounds. The Davis twins added a combined 50 pounds. Hope they can really break out this season.

That is massive, and I bet body fat% went way down as well! Going to see a whole new team in just 7/8 months

Could some of this just be a difference in how weights are reported?

Ok, I will bite.

I get the difference in some measurements but isn't how much someone weighs pretty standard? If not, please advise so that maybe I can make my wife's day when she tells me she gained 5 pounds, I can actually spin it in a way that she lost 5 pounds.

Or do you think it's the difference in weighing guys in their jocks vs weighing guys in full uniform?

Lindsey at 200? That seems like that may be a bit much for his frame. If he lost no speed or agility look out!

It's common knowledge that sometimes listed weights aren't always accurate for one reason or another. ;) So maybe some of these reported weights are not exactly accurate.

Gebbia up to 195 is a good thing to see. I see McKenzie Milton is only 5'11" and 185, so that means Gebbia could probably still add another 10-15 pounds and still be a relatively slim QB, since he's 6'3".

Some of these other numbers are pretty shocking, but it is absolutely great to know that our O-line is now going to average to be well over 300 pounds. That's how you do it, big ol' hogs up front!

As for Barnett, yeah they were trying to slim him down before because he was fat and acting lazy. My guess is, this isn't necessarily fat that he's been adding. Remember too that muscle tissue is far more dense and weighs more than fat tissue. So, adding 10 lbs of muscle is a relatively normal thing to do. Adding 50 lbs of it though...woof. That's a lot of eggs, tuna, steak, and chicken.

Personally, I usually cringe when I hear talk on sports radio about trying to have some players lose weight. Like Ozigbo and Barnett for instance. Those guys are power players so gaining weight while lowering body fat % and getting into better shape is their best bet. Ozigbo can diet all the way down to 190 and he still will not be out running people to the corner. The recent past has shown us how players can get their *** kicked on the field by just dropping weight.

Barnett needs(needed) to lose weight...period.

maybe this year's measurements are in troy weight instead of avoirdupois. The same reason a pound of feathers weighs more than a pound of gold.

Hunter Miller must be serious about battling for playing time this year. Up 50 pounds to 325. He won't be undersized.

Is this discussion the equivalent of baseball spring training reports of "he showed up in the best shape of his life!"?

Stanley Morgan looked kind of small in his interview yesterday. Thought he would have benefitted from gaining a bit of weight actually.

I think the numbers seem a bit inflated but across the board we’ll be bigger and stronger. Frost puts a premium on speed and endurance so I dont think Duval is gonna compromise much agility for sheer bulk for bulk’s sake.
These gains have me excited after watching our team get tossed around the field under Riley.
Frost Future is bright.
Pour me another cup of kool aid.

It’s easy, if a player truly weighs 193 they might say 195 or even jump it to 200. I really doubt...let’s use Tyjon Lindsey...weighs 180 and then claims 200. They tend to round to the nearest 5...maybe even 6 or 7. Lindsey is probably 190’s and just rounding it to 200. Same with Gebbia...he’s probably 192 or 193 or barely clipping the 190 mark. Frost claimed the ONLY thing he was worried about with Gebbia was the weight. He felt Gebbia had the speed and could run plenty good enough for his liking and of course Frost will love his arm....probably the best passer we have on the team.

I agree that these numbers need to be taken with a grain of salt. Its like when Michael Beasley was listed at 6'10 at Kansas State but was only 6'7 at the NBA combine.

To your point... When T. Lindsey was listed at 160 last year.. I sure hope he wasn't actually 153 pounds.

What I really like is how our lines especially offense have beefed up. It was very clear even visually they were not to D1 standard let alone Big10 last year. They looked soft and weak and played that way also

I forgot to mention that I saw Daniels when I was there a few weeks ago. I didn't see him up close like some others I mentioned, but he was absolutely huge and looked like he carried his weight very well.
