Updated OC Candidate list

I don't have any specific names, but this list is weak imo. This feels like a list that we would have under Flood or Ash. We are in the big 10, willing to pay decent money now, have a good defense and a lot of players coming back.
GS has to be able to find an established, competent OC. If he doesn't he will never succeed here.
Flood will make $1.25 million in 2023 and Texas has no state income tax. We're not paying him or anyone else the $$$ to equal that.
Well I've mentioned Garrett Riley at TCU and Alex Golesh at Tenn but those are mostly unrealistic options. The only motivation to make a move would be to come out from under the umbrella of the offensive HCs in Dykes and Heupel. Similar to the move Lashlee made to UConn from Auburn coming out from under Malzahn's umbrella.
If you can recreate it under a defensive head coach and you're running your own show on offense, then you're profile increases for HC spots and possibly better quality HC spots.
Outside of that, they would be unrealistic options.
This is from out of nowhere, and I have no idea what kind of offense he runs, but any thoughts on Tim Beck at NC State. Been OC for 3 years, making about $600K. Tim and Greg overlapped at Ohio State in 2016. That's a connection. Have ready varying things about NC State's offense. He followed Tom Hermann to Texas, and Hermann demoted him to QB coach in 2019. He was a QB at UCF, but only played 1 year.
I don't really care about "why would he come here." The why may be they know each other and maybe RU will pay more money.
I think he's had and up and down career performance wise but beyond that don't know a ton. He could be good I don't know but whenever I come across him reading things it's usually towards the negative.
Match the salary they currently receive and it's a 10 per cent pay cut, not to mention the difference in housing cost.
Salary isn't why they would leave. Potential future career advancement (running the offense alone out from under offensive HCs) would be the main and probably only motivation and as I laid out. Other than that, they are unlikely choices.
I'll give another example that I was just reminded of seeing CGD. Kenny Dillingham has been OC with Mike Norvell (Memphis/FSU) and Gus Malzahn (Auburn).
He just left Norvell at FSU and went to Oregon to be OC for defensive HC Dan Lanning. Forget about salary and any of the other stuff which is probably adequate at Oregon. The main thing is he's now running the show on offense on his own and out from under Norvell/Malzahn. Bo Nix has had career resurrection there and they have one of the top offenses in the country. Now I've seen Dillingham's named as a candidate for ASU (not saying he'll get it) but hadn't seen his name really before that for HC positions. So if he keeps it up at Oregon in future years, he can increase his profile for HC spots. He'll be seen as the orchestrator of the offense not Norvell or Malzahn. That kind of potential for career advancement might motivate some coaches.

Not seeing God on that list. That may be the only person that can create an offense at Rutgers. Of course God would leave after 1 year as OC at Rutgers.

But some are saying the next OC needs to meet some sort of "recruiting ability" requirement.
Well, OC Fridge wouldn't have met that requirement.
But he sure could coach - which matters much more.
