the lines reflect the public's opinion for expected occurrence, so not entirely accurate

since few of us can truly see the future, I typically post these futures to illustrate to the fans of other, much lamer teams that inhabit our board what a public brand looks like

after its best season ever & their most hyped preseason ever, iowa & purdue respectively still can't sniff the popularity of Nebraska Football following a season in which we won 1 single conference game

But... But... But Purdue. 10 games! The sleeper!
Lol I'd bet Purdue over Nebraska. I wouldn't bet either to win the big ten though. Stupid bet. Though, Purdue does have a fun recent history with OSU, so if they get to the game... haha jk. Big ten is a one horse conference. Has been for years.

Right now, I see Nebraska -2 @ purdue

as someone who does a whole lot of talking, you should probably sprint to the nearest window to get that price

post your ticket when done, pls and thx!

Don't gamble. I'd bet that and Purdue over 7.5 if I did. My guess is that line changes because preseason doesn't lines don't mean a ton. Last year Purdue's over under was what? 4.5? Probably told ya that was easy money and you ignored me as well. I've said it once and I'll say it again, under 8 wins would be disappointing. To much talent.

Nebraska could be favored. I want to see it before I hype them. They have tons of question marks for me, especially in the trenches. If they can develop any trench play, they would help a ton. Had a really good front 7 last year, but they have to replace a ton. Nebraska is wait and see. I wouldn't bet them this year if I gambled. To much unknown.

Why does this coal digger fan come on this site and talk so much **** as if Purdue is some sort of juggernaut?

They have had 3 winning seasons since Joe Tiller "retired". Two of those were 7-6 where they needed the bowl victory just to get there. There last conference title was 2000, when the Big Ten, as a whole, sucked out loud. They tied with Michigan and Northwestern at 6-2 in the league and were 8-4 overall.

Outside of Tiller, they haven't had back to back winning seasons since the late 70's early 80's. So forgive me if I think they will go back to being Purdue again.

I just like being on other boards, reading about there teams. Educating myself on big ten opponents. I just genuinely don't understand how one can say Nebraska is better than Purdue right now. Coming off 9 wins, better HC, better QB, and just as strong at almost every other position. I'm being realistic on Purdue and looking for an outside perspective on why they suck without a history lesson (since this is 2022 and 2000 doesn't matter) or they have no talent left (which is clearly incorrect). You just don't know how to discuss anything besides Nebraska is going to win 9 this year because Frost suddenly learned to coach. That's all.

Then when there are threads discussing the west and Purdue is treated as an auto win because they suck, I try to explain why they have a good team. But you know, Hazell and Hope means Purdue still suck right? Even though we have a new coach, AD, President, and are spending and investing at as high of a rate as Nebraska.

your coach still has a losing record and 3 losing seasons out of 5. He is just another mediocre big ten coach.

Ok. Still take him over Frost. But looking at it as 3 losing seasons in 5, while true, isn't acknowledging the caliber rebuild he inherited. He inherited a program on par with a middling MAC team talent wise. 9 wins in 4 years before Brohm. Not an excuse, but I have no doubt Brohm will prove his worth.

How about we make one little deal.

If PSU beats PU in the first game...you find another Big Ten site to post on.

If PU beats PSU, we will all admit that an 8 win season is possible for PU.

Ok. In threads about the big ten as a whole, I'll make sure to only talk about how great Nebraska is. Can you please make sure you quote the guy above talking about Purdue as well? Make sure he knows where to post. And the initial poster who mentioned Ohio State, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Penn State. And the guy who mentioed Iowa and Minnesota. Let them know where they can talk about those teams.

Are you like 5? You are like the little brother that finally can beat the older brother in backyard basketball on occasion then act like you are an NBA player.

You are on a Nebraska site, bragging about you mediocre football team and then get butt hurt because no one cares about your mediocre team and calls you out on it.

Just odd all the 2021 9 win teams in the west but Purdue is mentioned, but Nebraska is magically in that group. That's all.

lets not get carried away. But I think we will be closer to that than the win totals from the past couple of years.
Agree. I'm pretty optimistic for the way things are looking, schedule wise, roster wise, & coaching wise.. we can take a big step in the right direction this year.

Haha no. Idc actually. It's just funny. The hype every year. I'd actually enjoy seeing Nebraska be good. I know way more about them than you think I do due to my location and the people around me. Frost has got to go for Nebraska to be good. I enjoy going to Nebraska games though. I know Nebraska way more than yall do Purdue.

So I'm not allowed to discuss big ten teams in threads about the big ten teams? Just to confirm? And if not, why are others allowed to discuss big ten teams in big ten threads?

I can tell ya how I'd bet, but not be a gambler. You ask me, hey, should I take the over on Wisconsin total wins? I can say, I would, but that doesn't mean I gamble. So I'm actually neither. I'm sorry I didn't caveat it as I don't gamble. Didn't think it was necessary.

the most hilarious part of this is the fact I deleted the phrase below from my first post, holding out a modicum of hope that you're not the exact prototype of a lame b1g fan:

"watch him come back with 'I don't gamble'"

looks like my lame b1g fan bingo card is once again full

Cool. Preseason means didly squat. Nebraska is projected to win the west every year under Frost. Purdue was projected an over under of 4.5 wins last year I think. They will change.

I'd still like to see Nebraska do well though. Not going to lie. Makes Saturdays a little more fun around here. Frost isn't the answer though imo.
