Ty Ty and Grady 👏👏👏

– Numerous sources continue to stress just how impressive the team chemistry is and how enjoyable the basketball facilities are to be in and around after a difficult season for the program. There are no locker room issues and team synergy is the highest it’s been in years. It’s made for better practices and optimism regarding the team’s chances to not only compete in the SEC, but make a run in March this season.

That's a starting five that has the potential to shoot, score in the paint, score from mid-range, rebound and certainly defend, all at an elite level. And the talent and experience behind them is pretty strong as well.
I’m thinking Wheeler,or even Mintz, starts before TyTy, at least in the first game. I don’t want a frosh thrown in there against Dook, when we finally have the luxury of experience at all positions.

whoever programmed the KSR website must be a double amputee...what a unstable website. **** just reloads at random.
It’s all of their ad ****. It stops video/music on iPhone if you go to it with PiP or music on. There is 10x more bandwidth used pushing ads than actual content. I get it, you need to make money, but their ad implementation is about as anti-user as you can get.

As long as we beat Duke I don't care who starts. I just hope we run them out of the gym and make them look bad.

Don’t really care who starts I hope CAL watch’s Drew (Baylor’s ) games and learns how to utilize his deep bench.

I'm still not sold on Oscar being a dominant force yet. Will he start from day one? Absolutely. However, his sophomore slump is concerning.
Same.

Rebound, defend, run the floor and DONT FOUL…that’s what we need from him.

Create your points from O rebounding and running the court. I’m sure Cal will create some lob opportunities For him.

May be true of the first game but as the season goes on I think TyTy will become a starter and leader. Didn’t Maxey come off the bench that first game? I can’t remember.

Agree with 4 of those but I'd prefer to start Mintz and have one of Toppin/Brooks out there to start. Shooters around a bruiser with one athletic cutter forward who can hit a midrange.

Starters

G Washington
G Mintz
G Grady
F Brooks
F Tshiebwe

Key Reserves

G Wheeler
G Fredrick
F Toppin
F Collins

Allen gets minutes early, but Cal will get down to a 9 man rotation by March. Hopkins is the wild card and might push someone out of the rotation. Ware gets spot minutes.

I think Washington is going to be our best player, so he starts. Mintz is our leading scorer from last season and a sixth year Senior. He starts. Grady is a fifth year Senior. He will start. Tshiebwe will start at Center. The 4 spot is the one up for grabs, IMHO. I think Brooks gets the benefit of the doubt being the only third year player on this team and will start at least at the beginning of the season. I could see Toppin or Collins taking his starting spot. Hopkins could also factor in at the 4. Lots of options there.

He played 10 games and didn't want to play those. There was something going on and i would have been more shocked had he played great in those games.

Going forward I would like to hear some good reports including his name

Agreed.

But keep in mind that Huggy Bear played him out of position in order to get Culver on the floor.

Also heard he was out of shape to begin the season.

Hopefully he is in shape and plays the right position for us.

I say let's just throw him in. There isn't a bigger stage than Kentucky and Duke. Lets see what he's got. If it's not working then put the more experience guards in.

Mintz, Wheeler, Grady Toppin and Oscar is who I would start the season with. Give Ty Ty time to grow into the position. We gave depth but I worry about who backs up Oscar. Hopkins will surprise many if Cal has any brains at all. The kid can play. If Cal can change and quit playing favorites we could be pretty good.

I am also not sold on Brooks.
Im hopeful. He is well rounded but just needs to take even a small step in certain areas to be a really good college player. I think at the least hes a plus rebounder w a decent 15 foot and in game. he’ll have to earn his minutes though bc if its a position that is pretty deep and versatile

Brooks really needs to improve his shooting efficiency. He's pretty good at rebounding, passing, and finishing at his role.

Really hope we don’t end up having him trying to guard 5’s. He has some skill and it seems like Cal has players out of position regularly. Can’t be fun.
