Update on a post about deployed soldier getting vehicle towed....

In June I shared a story about my son who had his vehicle improperly towed from his apartment complex while on deployment. Many of you asked that I provide an update when he got resolution. I am pleased to report it has a happy ending. After hem-hawing around for a week or two the complex wrote my son a check for the $1,800 for costs associated with the towing. They did so without having to get anyone else involved although property management did have to be reminded that they would be hearing from the Army if they didn't pay up. I personally believe the complex got off the hook relatively easy by just paying back the out of pocket money. He could have easily delivered a blow much worse if he wanted to and they might have deserved it. Also, more good news, my son is back from deployment safe and sound. I appreciate all of the advice and support many of you offered.

Long story short. You don't mess with the SCRA. You have JAG standing around with hard on's waiting to take you to court. You better have deep pockets. When I came back from Desert Storm I had a issue. Handle in days. They will not let civilians 17 with service members.
