The Cats are coming off a reassuring win against Western Illinois last week but now face a daunting challenge when the Oregon Ducks come to the lake. The Ducks demolished Oklahoma State by 60 points, so they are strong in all facets. To keep it competitive, the Cats will need to win or at least draw on turnovers and play with discipline. Ten years ago this month, Stanford came to NU for a 9 AM PT kickoff and their offense--including Heisman finalist Christian McCaffrey--was kept out of the end zone. They blamed jet lag for the loss. The Cats can only hope for some help from jet lag this week.

We didn't mean OU... we were just misspelling OW as in OW, THIS ONE IS GOING TO HURT!!
LOL. Hey you never know! Our first road game and its a 9 am kickoff for us local time. We could be sluggish.

Oregon fans, do you think Phil Knight will come to the game? Do you think you will have over 50% of the crowd in your corner?

So even UO's dead alum is expected to win big over our living (albeit in his 80's) alum?

Ouch. Let's play fair:

Dead Duck David 56
Corpse Cat Cloris 13

Ken “Anointest my head with conductant..." Kesey 62
Chuck "...from my cold dead hands" Heston 0

These two couldn't have been more predictive. Oregon wins that hands down. Hopefully we can beat them on the field.

So I thought I was being overly optimistic, but this held up pretty well. The Cats definitely have some pieces.
