To me it strikes me that Calipari is more interested in having draft choices and how much money his former players are making in the nba, than winning games and championships at Kentucky. He has never been a strong x and o coach, and now he has not been getting those super talents that he used to. As far as firing him, it is not up to me or any other fan, that is up to the powers to be at the university. They couldn't fire him even if they wanted to though because of that not very intelligent contract the University signed him to.

This season is the last chance for me. I’m already not watching the directional school games live anymore. Either perform or I’m out.

Lifetime Contract. No. Let's give it some time. Big O is back and recruiting is already better. Who the hell you gonna replace him with? He has his downfalls, but he's the best for the job right now.
Great point here. He needs to continue to make adjustments and find out how to maximize this roster's talent, but I think him leaving after this season would be a major negative.

With the 2022 recruiting class and things being in great shape for 2023 class, I think they're in for a real resurgence the next few years. I'd like to see this staff together for at least a few years.

Kentucky won't move on from Cal.

Cal will move on from Kentucky, when he feels like it. And not a day before.

I hope that's a long time from now, but given the level of morons he has to deal with in the fan base, I'm afraid he'll decide it isn't worth the trouble.

You’re in for a rude awakening. When the beast that is UK’s base has had enough, his ego, and you apparently, will be shown the door. Cal will not be allowed to continue on this track and “leave when he wants”. But I have no doubts you will follow him wherever he goes. As a UK fan, you should be ashamed, but I know you’re not. You’re washed over.

This is where I’m at as well. But, dammit, Cal
has to start making good, strategic in game adjustments. There’s zero doubt we should’ve at least played half our defensive possessions in a zone last night. We should’ve also pressed them from tip to horn.
He’s gotta start winning some big games. For a while it was no final fours, then not the elite recruits now it’s beating a blue blood or even a decent team. He has to pull some rabbits out this year or it’s over. Sharpe IMO is here for half a year then gone. When rupp is half full another of that top class will bolt and we’ll end up with another team like this one made of players from other teams that don’t compliment one another

You and your pals have been saying that last statement for 7 or 8 years; yet, Cal's still here.

You try to shame and guilt our fans into thinking they're bullying Cal out of here. He's making $7 million/year after taxes. He's not leaving.

Your take on this issue is so weird.

Is it time to move on from Cal?

Don't write paragraph after paragraph, hell, don't even write a sentence. Just yes or no. Do you think it's time to move on? I'll start.

Yes.
No. Your type wanted Rupp, Hall, Pitino, Smith and now Cal all gone, bet you never played ball past middle school or Church league, and this is a sentence not a paragraph.

Yes. His mojo is gone. Old Cal isn't coming back. We are Kentucky. We can find a coach who can recruit and coach a functional offense. We have MORE than enough talent on this team to win. We simply do not have the coaching. But i fully expect several more years of poor to mediocre seasons before Barney is forced to move on.

Yep...lets wait until next season...those guys will be the BEST of the BEST! Didn't we hear that last year?

Seriously, does His Highness need to go? NO! But seriously people, you do this to yourselves EVERY DAMN YEAR!!! LOOK AT THESE STUD RECRUITS CAL HAS COMING IN NEXT YEAR!!!

Why not focus on this year? This bunch were the STUDS so many people yakked about LAST YEAR. Why not focus on THIS SEASON? DAMN! WASH RINSE AND REPEAT!
Yep. This
I was ready to divorce Cal 3 years ago
Knew it wasn’t about UK
He will never again step on a Final Four floor
Any time we lose people start the “how many 5 stars we’re getting next year talk”
When he said “players first” years ago that should’ve turned all the heads
I can’t go on. I’m finished.
In a nutshell, I’m the biggest UK fan ever and will watch but it’s not the same anymore because expectations aren’t there, and won’t be again until we get a guy that can adaquetly recruit and coach his *** off for the institution paying his more than handsome salary. A successful UK will put big money in the players pockets. This is where the emphasis should be.
