Purdue chokes
Absolutely right. Huge luck of bounce balls their way the whole game.Virginia was very fortunate.
You must rebound!Everyone says up 3 then you need to foul. Purdue just got burned with that strategy
I still say you should always foul up 3 the three pointer has become too automatic. Purdue just did a lot of things wrong not to mention that was a perfect missed free throw
It's not 100% but I wouldn't foul up 3 with more than 5 seconds left. In this case it was fine because they missed the FT on purpose anyway Purdue just choked in getting the board. The reason I would never foul up 3 with more than 5 seconds left I would be afraid they would make both FT's then force either a turnover or foul you and you miss a FT and then they hit a 3 to win it. When you foul them forcing them to miss the FT with little time left all that goes out the window.
How many times have you seen that strategy fail? Now, how many buzzer beater highlights have you seen on Sports center this year alone? It's the high odds play.Everyone says up 3 then you need to foul. Purdue just got burned with that strategy
I don’t think it’s as good if an option if you’re in the single bonus. How many times have you seen that strategy fail? Now, how many buzzer beater highlights have you seen on Sports center this year alone? It's the high odds play.
how do you figure? They miss the first, you rebound, game over. They make the first it's no different than double bonus.I don’t think it’s as good if an option if you’re in the single bonus.
Agreed. That strategy can backfire when there is more than 5 seconds or so left. It can also backfire if you accidentally foul on a 3pt shot. There are several things that can go wrong. Just about every single one of them went wrong for Purdue. They had that game in hand. Of course, if the guy hits the 2nd free throw, we're not even having this conversation. It's not 100% but I wouldn't foul up 3 with more than 5 seconds left. No, I mean Purdue was in the single bonus. So up 3 they put Virginia at the line. If Virginia makes both free throws, Virginia would foul Purdue and Purdue would go to the line up 1 for the one and one. If Purdue misses the first or second free throw, Virginia can come the other way with 5 or so seconds left in a situation where Purdue can no longer foul.how do you figure? They miss the first, you rebound, game over. They make the first it's no different than double bonus.
Offensive rebounding was Purdue's undoing.Virginia was very fortunate.
Oh horseshit. Both teams played their hearts out. Nobody choked.
Took some balls for the UVa guy to not take the half-court heave and throw it ahead instead
You don't foul with almost 6 seconds left on the clock. The ball was tipped all the way back to the free throw circle on the other end and they still got off the tying shot. There was too much time left for that crap.
It failed against Kentucky when Cuz put the missed free throw back in.How many times have you seen that strategy fail? Now, how many buzzer beater highlights have you seen on Sports center this year alone? It's the high odds play.
