Unprepared, unprepared always unprepared

This, to me, has been a consistent theme throughout Beamer’s time here. We have had a handful of games where things just clicked, but for the most part, we generally seem to come out disorganized and unprepared. We certainly were last week, but just happened to be playing a bad enough opponent that it didn’t matter. We were again this week, but we were fortunate early on that the other team was rattled and not able to capitalize on our disorganization.

We pissed through two timeouts on the very first drive of the game just to get a field goal and then burned the third one on the next drive. We had dumb plays and miscues galore. Even when we were up 16-0. A good team would’ve had 40 points in the first half. We had an opportunity to pile on at the end of the half with the recovered fumble, but our retardo defensive back had a hands to the face on their wide receiver that negated the turnover.

We are just undisciplined, disorganized, and unprepared. Far too often.

What were we looking for? All SEC teams have players. I don't think MSU will make the playoff though. Their schedule is more difficult than ours and they have their own OL problems. They could have called holding on their LT on almost every play. He is not going to hold up in Baton Rouge, Austin or Oxford. ... and that's just the road games that I think they struggle in. I think this is more about us and the things 18 outlined. I think we are in trouble and struggle to see SEC wins for us right now.

18istheman, you are correct, I was trying to be more optimistic as think we have the best offensive staff in a long while. However, you have proven to be correct and I was wrong we are not winning 8 games, we will be fortunate to win 6. Beamer just isn't tough enough or disciplined enough, I really doubt he has the courage to sit Sellers. Our defense should have been playing at a much higher level, as this game was absolutely crucial to this season. We saw the same old crap from Sellers, screw ups a veteran qb should not be making and this time the OL cannot be blamed, those terrible picks were on him. I just watched the highlights between ole miss and LSU, we are miles away from that level of football. I was really hoping Beamer would be successful here because I think he is a good and enthusiastic person, but now I really wonder if he is just out of his depth at this level.

If it's any consolation, A&M and Oklahoma don't exactly look like world beaters. Those might be more competitive games than most thought going in to the season.

I thought the same thing about A&M, but then I listened to their hc this morning, he is a totally different level coach to Beamer. Elko did not mince words about this teams performance, no excuses and was very descriptive when giving insights when answering questions. He also stated this game is about winning. I wonder how they will play in their next game.

I understand this to a point.....but the QB helmet coming off twice in the first quarter without it being manually ripped off purposely (like is done sometimes).....was an issue. I mean.....you know how big a deal it is if you have to come out for a play.....strap up son!
I don't blame the staff for that....blame the one kid. But, it definitely put the staff behind the 8 ball in a lot of ways. I really feel like this was 90% on the team and their execution. Just some lazy throws. CBs looked lost a couple of times. I like our safety play for the most part.
One thing not being talked about enough is: MSU did full course takedowns on every drop back pass. Yeah I know holding happens every play...but they did BAD HOLDS seemingly EVERY pass play - especially on the edge. I know they had a lot of penalties....I felt like it should've been double.
