But also in fairness he shouldn’t be here. Hes from GA and was an Ohio State commit first. He would be a national champion and not getting double teamed at OSU, or be an SEC champion and not getting double teamed at UGA. He came here and stayed here to be on a trash team. Has to be frustrating. And hes probably spending more time watching NFL games to see who will be drafting early next year.

So, he was forced to come here and then stay against his will and also do it for free? 😄

He’s making more here than he can at those other schools.

There’s bigger problems right now than a potential top five nfl pick having a bad attitude. I put that on Beamer.
Yep. Hes a kid and he could have literally gone fo amy team in the country and gotten a million $ fo do it. He choae to stay at this trash program and for what? Hes frustrated im sure

He’s NOT a kid, he’s a grown *** man that plays football for money.
This is lost on so many fans today. The days of the fresh faced young man playing football for the love of the game and for the love of good old State U is long gone. These are grown men who are professional athletes. Nothing they do can or should be dismissed as "he's just a kid playing football".

Just because they are large people doesn't make them men. I'd say NIL has caused these people to be more childish and like children than anything. A waste of good oxygen.

They can join the military, vote, sign contracts, go to prison for long stretches, get married without anyone's permission and do anything else a 35 year old can do. They are grown men.

Pearlman is Keith Olberman lite - a bitter, foul-mouthed little man who thinks he smarter than everyone else in the room... and he has publicly expressed his dislike and criticism for people of faith, especially Christians. So, one has to wonder if part of this isn't rooted in a disdain for Beamer because of his public professions of faith.

So, because Stewart isn't a traditional student you don't discipline him? What difference does it make if a player is a "true" student versus an employee when it comes to matters of discipline for behavior while performing duties in an official capacity for their employer? Is he trying to tell us that employees can behave any way they want without fear of consequences from their employer out in the real world, and that the only reason Stewart has been is because he's laboring under the bogus label of "student"?

Jeff - You're right in one respect: in the job world he wouldn't be suspended for insubordination... he'd be fired, you genius. And that might be what's eventually coming.

I didn't hear anything at all about faith in that video. I can't really argue with anything he says, college football is completely broken now, some players are making more than their position coaches.

The only thing Beamer can do is to do what he did, suspend him. We will never know, but does his NIL contract have a stipulation that he must be on the team to be paid? I certainly hope so.

Not saying he referenced Beamer's faith, just that people who publicly profess their faith are people he loathes and mocks (and may be why he chose to talk about this and try to embarrass Beamer by saying he's powerless here. Just guessing, but there is the connection). He ripped Tebow more than once in published articles, specifically about his faith. He's undoubtedly a religious bigot - he mocks and ridicules any person of faith (calls himself agnostic but relishes belittling those who disagree with him). He's written numerous essays/columns expressing his position on religion and people of faith... which seems odd for someone who is supposedly a "sports writer".

"I can't really argue with anything he says..."

Really? The title on the video clearly says, "South Carolina shouldn't suspend Dylan Stewart" and he says Beamer has no option and should play the kid. So, are you saying you agree with that? (Not trying to be antagonistic, but trying to understand why you can't argue with that opinion.)
I stridently disagree with that position. To do otherwise is to guarantee failure at his job - he may eventually lose it for other reasons, but to not show that he is in charge and there are consequences for insubordination would ensure and hasten his demise.

And he makes no sense - says Beamer shouldn't suspend/fine/discipline him because he's not a student and this is solely a business relationship. Well, Mr. Smartest-Man-In-The-Room, are there no consequences in the business world for insubordination and/or publicly embarrassing your employer?

That's either a simpleton or ignoramus talking. And based on what I've read from him over the years, would explain a lot of his opinions.
