Yes. There are always issues after a loss. They all clear up after a few wins. Another loss brings them back. There is a word for this: Bipolar. That’s our fan base. It’s got nothing to do with the program.

Clinging to a past that will NEVER come back is fruitless and stupid. This is about to get much much much worse when college goes semi pro in a couple years. I recommend you get a grip. You literally “ain’t seen nuthin yet”.
I do agree with you that the college bball I grew up loving will probably never return, so it is probably fruitless to complain about the one and done effect. I still say that there is something seriously wrong when folks who have, for the better part of 80 years, seen Kentucky basketball as a "religion" in this state--- suddenly stop "showing up for church" at Rupp, even though we have a top 10 team. It is a warning sign that college basketball is losing its luster, even at UK. It saddens me.
You are correct....It doesn't change things complaining about it. But it also doesn't mean I'm bipolar or a program "hater" because I don't like what I see.

We've won the SEC 4 out of 10 season with Cal here. Tied A&M for 5th SEC title. Thats not exactly lighting it up by our standards folks.

Most fans could care less about winning the SEC. People want to be in the hunt for the final four/championship. Cal has done that pretty much every year he's been here. Sit back, relax and enjoy the ride.

Cal doesn’t teach offensive until Christmas break. So now we get into what we will become. Same thing all ten years. If we look this bad in March then all the heat in the world can come but for now I’ll do what I always do and look for positives until we gel.

Not saying you are bipolar. The fan base is bipolar. If you are a sci-fi fan, goggle paklid. That’s us.

I do contend you need to get a grip. What you see now is nothing compared with what’s to come. This whole thing is about to become a circus side show why likeness payment starts.

Cal's best days are behind him. He was great for the program the first 6-7 years. Time to move on. I love Coach Cal and loved Tubby also. There comes a time, when hanging on just isn't worth it.
We average right around 30 wins a year, last year we won exactly 30 games. Statistically speaking, you're a moron.

They may win 30 again this year. I watch less every year because the Cal NBA prep school has run its course. I have no interest in watching them play.

That's a weak response my friend. I didn't say anyone was an infant for having a differing opinion. You can believe anything you want, even if you're wrong. But if you're gonna argue with me about it, you better step up your game. The argument I'm making is that many of our younger fans want instant gratification. We've won so much that 2 losses early in a season make begin to question Calipari and the entire system/program. It can't be that the players just didn't have a good night shooting. It can't be that the team just didn't play defense and rebound early and waited too late to turn it on. It can't be that the officials were one-sided at all and reversed a call that could have tied the game with under a minute to go. No, it MUST be that Calipari has lost his coaching ability, that he's all washed up, and that a coaching change is in order. Nevermind that we've seen all this before and that the team is always peaking in March.

Can you say "overreaction"? This response is also classic and those of us who have posted here have seen it all. Fans who never celebrate a win show up en masse after a loss and throw tantrums.

Now, if 2 losses turns into 3, which turns into 7, 8, 9, and 10, we can realistically complain.

As for Tubby, I loved the guy. Still do. I think he is a great person and a solid coach in his day. But he could not recruit the talent needed to win big in the NCAA. The SEC in those days was pathetic and we struggled. The conference is head and shoulders better now. I always said that if someone else could recruit for Tubby, he had a contender every year, but he just couldn't do it. So, we end up with Brandon Stockton, Shagari Alleyne, Lukasz Obrzut, Bobby Perry, and on and on. And Vitale calls it... this is just not the level of talent that we're used to seeing at Kentucky.

Fast forward to now... we have the talent to get it done. Sometimes these guys get off the bus ready to contribute. Sometimes they need a month, 2 months, and some (like the Harrison twins and company) don't begin to see their potential until the very end of the season.

But do we have patience? Very little. We pitch a temper tantrum. That's it. That's why I said what I did. And it is absolutely true. My biggest fear is that one of these days Calipari will get sick of listening to the whiners, the infants, and the idiots and leave.

Right, lol, ok.... your second post was much clearer than your original, with that being said, stick by what you said and I will stick by what I said- ultimately its a talk board and our opinions are meaningless- mentioning additional things like stepping up my game to meet you ..... honestly? get over yourself dude you're acting like the people you are talking down about. Now, I could debate more on what I meant, but you and I are not talking about the same things here and the areas we are on the same page we agree, thus allowing this to keep going in areas it has no business is pointless. What I will say is instead of blaming others for misconceptions and overreactions (which people do)- perhaps you should look at yourself and your responses because let me assure you that you are guilty of the same thing. My entire point of my original post had nothing to do with critiquing Cal or UK directly, it was not overreacting or talking down on the school, it had nothing to do with patience or past coaching performance, it was speaking to the state of college basketball today and the one and done model which is in fact based on a decade or longer of experience. If you want people to react professionally and rationally, fine, I agree- but stop using trigger words, superiority stances, generalizations and assumptions that cause those types of responses. Try actually understanding what they wrote, stop assuming their intent and attacking them because you think you know what they mean and they may not agree with your point of view. You have a good day sir

Anytime I see a thread that begins with "let me say that I love Coach Cal, the players every year" I know a negative thread is coming.

Then quietly move on, like a gentleman. Nobody will even notice.

Then we would be stuck with sweet 16s from now on. UK needs fans who demand excellence. That's how Cal got here after Tubby and BCG. If all of us just moved along you would still be cheering for BCG in the NIT

You're the one who said you don't watch anymore, that really doesn't scream FAN.
