Sigh...one of Rick's closest friends from Saratoga was working with the school to get him there. It fell apart for whatever reasons, but it was on at one point. Siena needs all the help they can get to be a relevant mid-major.

Rick has no show clause and will not get one as he did not lie to the NCAA.

Roy played ineligible players and he doesn't have a no-show.
Self was on tape talking about paying players and he doesn't have a no-show.
Heck, our own coach has had two programs that have had banners stripped.

You act like something has already been established and that is not the case at all. Rick will coach a college team again if he and another institution wants him. The NCAA is toothless when it comes to this as they only care about $$$.

I remember this buzz, and my unpopular opinion was excitement for Siena. But that rumor seemed to die on the same weekend it was released. I heard about this contact he had, but it didn't appear to go anywhere. I'm not sure it was ever "on". Maybe they we're working on plugging it in. Most in our area didn't put much stock in to it and then a day or two later it was a wrap.

Thats how I remember it going down, but no idea who the contact was.

I'd respond, but then you will probably run to the Mods again...

Yeah...disagree again. Go to any large European city and pretty much everyone speaks English. But yeah, for the small segment that doesn't speak English is really what keeps Pitino up at night.

Great take...keep them coming.

I have been to several different countries and i assure you the amount of people that speak and understand English is nowhere near your opinion of most people speak english. They also could care less about basketball for the most part..nothing like the US.

"From this survey, we can conclude that almost every European can say at least a word or two in English, but this doesn’t mean he can speak well enough in order to be able to communicate in an adequate level, or to hold a decent conversation"

From the article you posted earlier. Guess you just read the headline. The 51 percent just means they understand a few words. Not carry on conversations. But what do i know, im just a hillbilly from Hazard.

Just a little tidbit from the past. Do you remember when Pitino was going to leave KY for Boston? His "wonderful" wife said she would rather be in the big city of Boston than in a country backwards town like Lexington. She then went on to call us hicks, basically. This was in the Lexington paper. And the backlash was terrible. She said she never wanted to come to Lexington in the first place. She was a big b_t_h the whole time she was here. Now some of you have a major hate on for Pitino, but I am grateful for what he did for us after probation. Do you think he was horrible and crooked then?
