Add me to the dislike the checkerboard uni designs, feel like they are just plain ugly and boring looking. Also agree with the poster above who mentioned how Nike has ruined our look. They put the same design out for multiple schools cutting out and feeling of being unique as too many schools look the same just with different colors or a small tweak to the uni.

They should just bring these back. A modern twist on a more traditional look.

The jersey is absolute perfection. The curved kentucky is such a classic look. I would love to see some shorts with just a power K on each side kinda like what Michigan does. If they bring back the checkerboard garbage another year I think the fans will riot lol.

I’ve even emailed Mitch Barnhart suggesting we make those full time, well aware that my opinion doesn’t need matter five cents to him.

Neither does the players or Cals who have all been public about their dislike of them.

Any chance we get new unis next year? I'm personally not a fan of the checkerboards we are rocking now. I wish we'd return to a more traditional look rather than looking like a jockey on the court.

The only reason I can buy in to the conspiracy that NIKE is favoring Duke is our jerseys. They had to know they were incredibly ugly but knew we would wear them because Barnhart just wouldn’t be able to resist all that checkerboard :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

I would like to see a fade uniform similar to what Arizona has. I'm not sure how it would look, but it would beat the checkerboard.

I’m not sure that would beat the checkerboard look. I would place those near the top of the worst uniforms in basketball.

I really think that Mitch puts in as much thought about the uniform as he did the new logo. I think they just come up at a meeting, if they're not absolutely horrible, he just signs off on it. Doesn't want to put anymore thought into it than he has to.

Agreed! I so wish we’d go back to the 38-1 team unis. Those were great! It’s ridiculous looking now. Looks too much like Tennessee crap!

I thought about that too. Duke surpassed us in recruiting when we went with the stupid, ugly checkerboards. The 2015 team's unis looked sharp.

Yes, uk football used checker end zones in the 30's, ut not until 60's
