Any chance we get new unis next year? I'm personally not a fan of the checkerboards we are rocking now. I wish we'd return to a more traditional look rather than looking like a jockey on the court.

Could not possibly care any less about uniform design. Maybe that’s just me! As long as they get the shade of blue correct, and the players are ok with them, I really don’t give a damn about the design.

I’ve even emailed Mitch Barnhart suggesting we make those full time, well aware that my opinion doesn’t need matter five cents to him.
How about getting Nike to quit designing our uniform that looks as generic as other Nike teams?
We have to change our uniforms. I'm sorry to say, but they are horrible. I was a big fan of the John wall team uniforms.

It’s like Barnhart and co. are tone deaf as to what is “cool” with the younger generation. Like he thought checkerboard was gonna be awesome to the high school recruits coming in, which it isn’t, and it definitely isn’t cool to the old school fans who just want something nice and traditional.
Cool, for mine and even the younger generation, now means a clean look that incorporates old school sensibilities. It’s why every team except us has new uniforms that are less flashy and more simplistic. It’s why kids are wearing short shorts again. Less is more.
I think we will see something new for next year. I have no idea what, but it feels like it’s time. I kind of like the checkerboard, but I’m fine if it goes. I know we have reasons for it, but TN has it as a bigger part of their tradition.
Yes, they try to do too much and wind up making them look hideous. Those 1994 uniforms we had were absolutely terrible. The ones with the cat claws on the shorts. That was Converse, though, I believe. Just an example of trying to do too much.
I would like to see a fade uniform similar to what Arizona has. I'm not sure how it would look, but it would beat the checkerboard.
I despise the checkerboard and it’s a terrible uniform. And Mitch is only doubling down because he is an idiot. Take the damn checkerboard out of all the teams’ uniforms. I can live with the new wildcat mascot head if they change the uniforms even though I dont like the new mascot either.

My only guess is that UKAA went all in on the checkerboard thing. Kroger Field ... checkerboards everywhere. New Rupp floor ... checkerboards.
They just went all in on something everyone hates. It's rare something brings us together like this.
The uniform in you pic is bad ***I have some uniforms that I designed and sent to NIKE with no luck. I can design but hate how you have to upload pictures. Anyone have an easier way to do this so I could post my designs on here?
I don't know and not sure if anyone here knows either. But how much input does the university have in the design of the uniforms? Just like the Nike shoes...I don't think much.
I've seen a lot of post about MB taking heat for this and I'm not sure he or anyone at UK would have anything to do with it.

UK and it’s athletic department would have the final say on any uniforms. Example designs are presented to the university for approval.
