Top 25 teams every week run into quicksand or fall off cliffs.

#7 Penn State lost to Illinois in NINE overtimes, 20-18.

#8 Oklahoma State lost to 4-2 Iowa State, 24-21.

#18 North Carolina State lost to 3-3 Miami, 31-30.

#14 Coastal Carolina lost 30-27 to the Mountaineers (of Appalachian State), 30-27.

#2 Cincinnati, #10 Oregon and #22 San Diego State won by 7 or fewer points.

Hell, even #3 Oklahoma was frightened by Kansas for 3 quarters and nobody in the Power-5 conferences loses to Kansas.
