Justin Wilcox-Cal. Watched his d line play specifically, came across as a physical team, of course they lose to 0-2 Notre dame so maybe not as good as thought.

Live in PAC 12 country. Another Riley type coaching career. In fact both were star high school players in Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Wilcox was a better college player at Oregon than Riley was at Alabama. 28-29 record at Cal. I will bet Wilcox does not last long at Cal, no head coach does, and will be back at what he does best, being a defensive coordinator.

This...soooooo muuch this.
Should have grabbed him earlier in his career. I don’t think he leaves U Dub on his own. I bet not too many of you watched the Huskies win against the Michigan State. Huskies played great the first half. Then it started to get a little scary for the Dawgs, late 3rd quarter/4th quarter. Qb Penix Jr couldn’t get the Huskies moving on offense and Spartans scored some quick points to get within 11 points. I think if Michigan State would have started sooner in the second half they could have catched Washington.

We have like 40 on the radar candidates, under the radar seems silly. Everyone with a pulse is on our radar.

I'd like to enter my name..
the first thing I would do is burn any green jerseys, we would play the game of football again
thats right 1's vs 1's and 1's vs 2's full speed

then I would unplug the stereo, where the players can comprehend what the coaches are saying.
if you want to dance, go be a ballerina else where.
all that championship stuff would be taken off the walls, and the sears trophies stored in my office..
we would live in the now.

then the root of the problem, running the ball...all them dreams of taylor and adrian turning into joe montana, done...over...you want to be pass happy? go to wisconson or minn...bye....
UNL runs the ball, period..full stop..

thus concludes my first day...except contacting road grinder and work horse I backs.
qb hands the ball off, and passes only when I say (which would allways be the correct time)..

(the second day I'm thinking buying a nice corporate jet for mickey, the rb and db coach, to recruit 3 areas continually..so cal. texas. florida.......thats the states they will focus on) I will handle the midwest...

Most of the coaches listed are at least as qualified for consideration as Mickey Joseph

Have to agree on this.. More names doesn’t help the solution..
I don’t think you massively expand the list but I think you reach out/interview a few targeted coaches in different broad categories

1. Home run guys -- Meyer/Aranda/ maybe Rhule
2. Established coaches with moderate success at current schools - Leipold, Campbell, Kleiman etc
3. Established Coordinators at P5 programs or NFL - G5 coaches
4. Young dynamic future stars - If I were Trev, along with the standard questions, I would ask those with whom I am seeking advice to give me a couple of names of who they see as young future stars in the coaching profession
(the Urban Meyers when he was at Notre Dame or Bowling Green, Dabo before being named Clemson head coach, etc)

I don't think we are going to get an Urban Meyer type established coach - so that leaves you looking at categories 2 and 3 or a cat 4 guy who you hope is the next star before they get established

Established Head Coaches and established coordinators isn’t the real meaning of being under the radar candidate..

Now someone like Matt Entz at No Dakota St is under the radar..

Category 4 we already have been burned with the SF hire.

We are considering Joseph who at any power 5 program other than us would be considered as under the radar as they come

He’s being auditioning for the job because he is the interim head coach, similar to what Dabo Swinney was in 2008 at Clemson..

Not much different than Helton at USC. Once you’re named interim you’re no longer “under the radar”

Leopold has a proven track record. If you have not researched his pedigree you have missed the boat. This is a no brainer for any blueblood program.

The only thing that worries me about Entz is he inherited the winning program. It is difficult to keep the winning ways going, but it is not the same as building from the ground up. I LOVE his OC.
