Wow. What a buckwild start to Opening Day. Things starting to feel normal. April Fools. Roy retiring. Beard to Texas. Cal reeling in crooks. Stoops and the boys eatin'. Easter Weekend. Final Four.

Some much needed positivity and liveliness for me personally.
cardinals on today as well.

Time for Dickie V to start his lovefest for Ole Roy while crucifying Will Wade at LSU and Miller at Arizona. He conveniently forgets about Roy's issue at KU and the issues at UNC.
Yeah where there is smoke there is fire and there has been a lot of smoke around Roy for years.

We used to mock Roy from about 1993 through 2008. Then he managed another title in 2009 and one in 2017.

Cal has one title and we realize the irony, and thus, the same fans who mocked Roy have piped down a bit over the years as they remind themselves that Cal "only has one title with all that talent" - the same argument we used to make against Roy.

Cal still has until he’s 71 to win 2 more titles. I tend to believe it’s possible IF he’s serious and I mean SERIOUS about revamping UK and his approach.

It should be 2 a piece if not for the rooferee!
The Zags would’ve defeated us in the Championship game. Few doesn’t panic or play stall ball. Cal does both.
Zags would’ve defeated UNC if the ref didn’t overlook the UNC player laying out of bounds holding the ball.
The Zags were the best team in 2017 like they are this season.

I hope like hell they hire Wes Miller. It would be satisfyingly disastrous for a few seasons. It won’t happen though. Zero tournament wins and a 58% win percentage. If he had eyes on the UNC job he needed to go up to a Power 5 school. But he would not have done well, so it doesn’t matter anyway.

I’m sure some of the boosters had a push in this. Some Carolina people I know haven’t been happy where the program was headed under Roy the last couple years. Much like Kentucky, there’s 0 patience in that program

I really believe the pressure to hire an African American will be ENORMOUS in Chapel Hill, especially with the perception among the faculty and other elite graduates that the AF-AM scandal abused black athletes. And I believe as always they'll look within their own ranks.

I think Hubert Davis is a clear favorite. Maybe Stackhouse, despite his record at Vanderbilt, will get a look.

That's the beauty of hypotheticals...they can be whatever you want them to be. I choose to believe that had we gotten past UNC we would have our 9th title. You can believe whatever you want.

We were the best team in 2015, and you saw how that worked out. I know, I know. Cal's fault, but the point is that the best team doesn't always win.

If they just go and hire Wes Miller and not Hubert Davis, there might be a bit of a problem.
I predict there will be burning buildings, looting, explosions and *** kickings, also known as, "peaceful protests".

Oh yeah, Hubert is a great basketball mind....

Being that Meeks ended up playing for 8 or 9 years, I wonder if he'd like to have a shot at that 2010 team.

UK might have run the table.

G Wall
G Bledsoe
G Meeks
F Patterson
C Cousins

The one deficiency that team had - shooting - would have been cured with Meeks nailing 3 to 5 threes a game. There's no way Huggins 1-3-1 a team with Meeks.

Cal should have told Meeks, "I'll give you $2 million when you retire if you come back."

North Carolina does not want John Calipari. He is not marketable with a lifetime contract and a salary higher than Nick Saban. No other school wants him at that price.

Calipari will get $1 million a year for life as the Ambassador for UK Basketball once he retires from UK. He is not going anywhere.

My pick for North Carolina since I despise them is Jerry Stackhouse. He would be the best representative of Carolina basketball.
