Kentucky is reportedly showing interest in the 6’8’’ senior. He didn’t average a lot at UNC but he would make a decent role player at Kentucky.

I like that they've reached out. He's a kid who played outstanding basketball for UNC on their run to Final Four and in the National Championship game last year he stepped up with some big shots/plays. Has a history with Calipari-Dad played for him. Brother of Cam Johnson and both of them are friendly with Nate Sestina, Oscar Tshiebwe, and Adou Thiero too. So not something to just rule out. Mentioned to a friend during the year that he'd be a guy I'd target as a possible roster addition if he entered the portal, so glad to see he did/they have.
Doubt he'd want to transfer to be a role player but would be a solid addition if so
Why?He can't shoot and is just an athlete.
The more guys who can play the better, maybe Cal has learned his lesson and is done having only six guys who can play. Bench depth is needed to make deep runs.
He's got experience, does a lot of things and liked his game a lot last year. This year's UNC team was a disoriented mess. Shot almost 46% from field his Soph season and like his versatility.
I said the same thing on the main board and they all laughed. He's got an NBA bloodline as well. His brother did not really pop until later. A change of scenery may really do him some good. He doesn't have to come in and be a superstar but just a guy that can knock down some shots; percentages can be a bit misleading on a bad team with a lack of chemistry. He has nice size too at 6'7ish.
