I agree, but I also thought that Prime would spectacualry fail at Colorado, only to be proven wrong this year. Will have to watch and see, not sure why the guy won't just hang it up, nothing left to prove.

If they actually would have played in a real conference he would have. Even if they played the good teams in the big 12 it would have been a way worse record. If they don’t complete the Hail Mary against Baylor after they got thumped by us it might have collapsed on him also. Everything lined up to have a good year for him at Colorado.

I love the hire. Belichik's dad was coaching in Chapel Hill when Belichik was born so he has a connection to the university. Belichik is very likely never going into living rooms; he will have coordinators do that part of the recruiting and then to bring recruits to campus to come meet the oracle. As to why Belichik would want to do this, he is a grinder who loves football.

First off, I think he will treat this like an NFL team and look at "recruiting" more as free agency, focusing on guys with experience.

Secondly, I think this will be an amazing failure on so many levels.

Boosters will want to shake hands and here Tom Brady stories, Bill will not want any part of that. He will be 100% disconnected from the fans/boosters (unless his act in NE was just that, an act), and it will just snowball.

I think it's a huge win for unc but I'll bet Bill said something similar to "it's my way or the hiway and I will have complete control with no meddling from you "

He'll probably try to run it like an NFL team which is basically what college football has become except everyone is a free agent
