This is just ANOTHER example of it's not always about the money.
yea apparently Arizona has an A-hat AD like Mitch Barnhart who thinks he is king and matters in some way and Loyd didn't get along with him, now Loyd i guess doesn't have to report to him so this says... good for him.

Just wanted to LOL at UNC again
Pete Chilcutt is available
Im not sure why you are laughing...its not over yet and it seems they may get billy D since timing is working out for them. He probably could have been persuaded to UK had we been patient as well but timing is ten fold better now for him to return to college if he is done with the nba

Don’t look too much in to it.
Just think it’s funny for some reason. They thought they’d fire ole Hubert and go steal somebody away. Didn’t happen. That’s funny to me.

My guess is it’s going to be Donovan. May might leave Michigan, but not for UNC. I can see him waiting for the Indiana job to open up again.

Donovan’s NBA shine has totally worn off. There’s not a single NBA team clamoring to hire him.
He‘s also in his 60’s now. So, there couldn’t be a better time for him to get back to the College game.

You can cross McCollum off. That dude is never leaving Iowa. And that breaks my heart to admit because he was my first choice last time.
You are saying the guy who was the coach at Northwest Missouri State for 15 years at the time of our last hire was your first choice for the Kentucky head coaching job??
The guy who had come off a DII round of 32 loss and a round of 16 loss just like our currently despised coach just did was your first choice for the Kentucky job??
The guy who lost 13 games this year while playing ZERO ranked or tournament teams out of conference??

Donovan sticking to his guns on the "no convos 'til after the season" thing. Glad it isn't only us I guess!

I think Grant McCastland would crush there. I hope he doesn’t go because I’d love a shot at him in the future if Pope can’t fix this. I need to see Byington do it a couple years in a row but he wouldn’t be a bad option to take a chance on.

I wanted Dan Hurley but we all know Mitch is much too pious
Mitch actually offer Drew a big deal, it was like 11-12 mil a year or more I believe, Hurley said no to UK and then the Lakers offered Hurley an equivalent contract that UK offered If i remember right and Hurley even said no to the Lakers.

I believe Hurley only leaves for a north east NBA job, Celtics or Knicks

Did you mean Hurley instead of Drew initially? I can imagine the big swing but I can also imagine Hurley not wanting to work for Mitch. I imagine the boosters definitely mandated that offer

This is gonna sound crazy, but id still rather see if we can make Pope work for over half the salary we'd have given Scott Drew. All Scott was gonna do was straddle the Sweet16/E8 line every other year with maybe a final 4 once every 10 years.

Thats not good enough for me, certainly not for 11mil eating up resources. Id rather give Pope this last chance, we will likely fire him but at least this experiment wont have cost Kentucky 60mil or something.
