They are toast. At least when we lose big games we can step back and say "Well, we got the #1 class coming in" which has usually been good for a Final4. It's gotta be a pretty crappy feeling, when that was their one chance to win it all. Not that I feel bad, hahahahahaha.

But I do think that was it. That was Roy's last hope at a title. They won't touch Duke or Kentucky next year.

They are excited over some 3 star they have coming in. I'm not even sure if he's top 150 or not. In the words of Roy Wiliams himself....

Yep....Carolina has 1 ....1 recruit in the top 150.

Like I said they will not be relevant in college basketball for at least 5-6 yrs and if significant penalties come down you can stretch it to 10 yrs.

That's the best part about tonight. They might actually be NIT next year.

You can almost guarantee this will be their lone final four appearance over a decade or more.

And boy.. I'm glad that the negative attention has hurt recruiting.. The NCAA won't do their job, so I'm glad that exposure from NC state fans and others have singled handedly hampered UNCs recruiting. How freaking awesome is that?! It's like a citizens arrest of a dirty cop. Fans of the sport have so far been the biggest thorn in UNCs side. Love it.

yea, the kids and their parents are well informed anyway, it doesn't matter what espy or the ncaa tries to hide. The people inside of the recruiting circles, AAU coaches, handlers, other recruiters, parents, high schools coaches who are all gathering info for their guys know exactly what situation the heels are in, You can't hide that kind of **** today. We have kids every year in memphis go through this process in football, and believe me, the process is extensive.

Nobody who cares about their kid is going to want to put him in a situation where he can't be successful. even the chance of that pushes them away.

Do you mean the top 50? I'm hardly the one to defend Carolina, but Woods and Robinson are consensus 4 stars and 70 or so recruits.

Depends what else they end up losing other than Johnson and Paige, if anything (not gonna count Joel James there). But they should be banned from any postseason play next year. Key word being should, obviously.

Obviously they're both gone. I wasn't talking about them. I was hinting at Justin Jackson.
Berry, Meeks and Hicks are the other most likely guys, but I see no chance they declare unless they just want to get out of Chapel Hill that badly because of major sanctions.

Ok my bad 3 in the top 150. Zero 5 stars and #30, #35 and #76.

They are going to the NIT next yr.

They'll be really good again next season if the NCAA doesn't hammer them(not holding my breath)

They only lose Johnson and Paige for sure of significance. Berry, Jackson, Hicks, Pinson are only sophomores. Meeks and Britt juniors. And they have Woods and the Mickey D coming in.

They'll be top 10. But probably not in the top tier of contenders.

They better hope the ruling isn't too harsh because with Roy getting so old and the cupboard looking bare for the next couple years, no coach will want to come around for at least 4-5 years. Just going to have to try and get a Doherty type guy once again who can recruit like no one's business to make it attractive again.

Johnson and Paige were easily their two best players and you can bet 1 or 2 more jump.

With that weak recruiting class no way are they top 10.
