Glad they aren’t putting zone up there every pitch or I would be having a come apart!! He is all over place with calls.

Its time for the computers to take over the strike zone. The technology exists. It's asinine and arrogant not to use it.

What, he's aiming for a spot below the knees and two inches off the plate and hits it, so damnit that's a strike?!

We have had guys on base, out hitters just haven’t cashed in on the opportunity. Small served up a fastball right in their best batters wheelhouse and he crushed it. Take away that pitch and we are looking at a 1-0 game. If we could get guys in during the 1st and 2nd we might have a different game but we didn’t.

The zone is inconsistent and that is frustrating. Small has been squeezed. But he’s also not sharp. He has been missing his spots and falling behind early. When you demonstrate good command the umpire will start expanding the zone for you. It’s like that in every level of baseball.

Umps like this are one of the reasons I try not to get too excited about our chances, no matter how good we are. Horrible. As soon as I saw he wasn't going to give the high strike to Small, I figured we were screwed.

I figured we were in bad shape when we couldn’t get guys in from scoring position.
