I am sure Mike Riley wanted him. Riley was really in to statue QBs. Most of college teams have moved away from what I call "Single Threat" QBs and now prefer Dual Threats. Michigan is moving in that direction too.

I am interested to see where Brandon Peter's ends up. Who is in the market for Single Threat QBs these days?

Another case of a QB down on the depth chart moving on. I believe he was 4th string coming out of Spring so I don't blame him. He wouldn't play unless there was a rash of injuries.

AND, Michigan is changing up its offense requiring more mobile QBs.

Statue QBs like Stanton? Like Terry Wilson? Like Gebbia (faster 40 than Martinez)?

Per Mgoblog.com "While Peters has the option to shop, a rising Purdue program near home and in dire need of an established QB is probably harder to pass up than the chance to coach Louisville was for Jeff Brohm."

Makes sense, he's a native Hoosier and wants immediate play time with only 2 years of eligibility left.

Best of luck to him.

Go Blue!

Wasn't Stanton a Pelini recruit? If Gebbia has a faster listed 40 than Martinez, I don't think he is quicker than Martinez. I remember in the 2018 spring game, there was a notable difference when Adrian took off running than when Gebbia took off running.

Stanton was also heavily recruited by Riley when he was at Oregon State. It's why some speculated that the starting job was his to lose after Riley took over.

Martinez is more agile than Gebbia, but Gebbia is faster straight-line. I wouldn't call a low 4.6 guy a "statue."
