The NCAA is interviewing Blakeney tomorrow for a 2nd time. The Blakeney sex show was the one arranged by McGee when he was at UMKC. This might be the key to identifying coach Mike. Someone at UL had to let Blakeney know that entertainment was showing up at his hotel.

Interesting that Dana O'Neil saying that the punishment should be similar to Brown and Boeheim. Also, ESPN stating that what happened at Louisville was worse than turning your back on academic fraud. Are they pushing the narrative that Louisville should get punished harder than UNC**** and that essentially, the punishment should be on the order of what Syracuse got? Sounds like we have the correct defense against NCAA infractions demonstrated: deny, lie, wall up, and cover up and you can get away with just about anything. You would think that the NCAA would be looking into the pay for play using the travel agency as a front for player procurement. Then again, you would have thought that the NCAA would have investigated UNC**** wheels for Heels and dentistgate also, but they obviously aren't. The NCAA is a corrupt organization and that is sad.

one thing that caught my attention and I don't agree with it - at least in the context of the NCAA

the "NCAA source" said "This is not a guy who is turning his head to academic fraud. This is much worse than that"

Now I will admit that I don't fully understand the context of it, and I recognize there are much worse things a program and athlete can do like protecting a pedophile in the case of Penn St., however -as far as the NCAA is concerned as a representative of Universities, there is NOTHING worse than academic fraud. They aren't a governing body for criminal activities. That's why people were kinda taken aback by the NCAA slamming Penn St beyond their charter - even though what Penn St did was reprehensible.

The quote was related to Pitino and him not accepting responsibility but hiring a prostitute for a player does nothing to the integrity of your academics within your institution, the reason for your being.

RE: the academic fraud, I think this statement was made b/c academic fraud is not the purview of the NCAA. That is handled on the university side of the house (at least that's my understanding of the UNCheat situation). This cash for recruits scheme by UL is NCAA gold b/c it's completely within their jurisdiction, and having 3 recruits to corroborate the accusations is about as good as it gets for them.

On the money part (which Louisville fans, parroting Crawford, had somehow deduced was only a few hundred dolars), we could be talking over $100,000. They said Andre spent $2000-5000 per recruiting visit. If the 22 parties were all distinct visits, 22 of them could total that much.

Two, on whether a new President would be bad for Pitino - yes, if this were a reputable school. A good school would have a board that wants to hire and empower a qualified person. Louisville won't do that. They'll hire an insider, or maybe an outsider who is weak and agrees to go along with the program. "One thing we want to stress at the outset, Mr. Smith. It's important that the new leader of this university understand its culture, and that leader should share the values the make the culture. Rick Pitino is a vibrant and important part of the fabric of this school. It's important to us that new leadership understand that, and demonstrate his or her support for coach Pitino, publicly. Is that something you could see yourself affirming".

So is the CA sitting on the case until the NCAA makes their play as not to make their case?

Only reason the distinction is key is that there's a one year statute of limitations for misdemeanors in KY. No statute of limitations for felonies. And whoever was the actual money source (obviously it's not just McGee) would be looking at possible felony charges as well.

I think the Cash for Recruits remark was about the recent scandal where UL Athletics was giving $50,000 deposits to some small travel agency on an island off Spain that just happened to be the handler of Matt Stockman and other foreign players through a European AAU type team,then they cancelled the trip forfeiting the deposit and the player just happens to commit to UL after that

In fact this Travel Agency cover up also included 4 other schools in the Rick Pitino Coaching Tree,Little Rick at Minnesota,Travis Ford at Oklahoma,and 2 more former Asst Coaches of Pitino's.
I wonder if ESPN is even aware of this new scandal?

If this were Cal and UK the NCAA tournament would be an after thought ! There would be reporters by the hundreds camped out in Lexington, starting with that prick nose Pat Forde !!
