Better than Askew that started for us last year.
I’ll agree with that but I was addressing the statement made in the post. Current signees. I disagree that Reed is currently better than who we have signed this year or who we are pursuing for the following years.

People mad that Cal doesn’t go after more in state players, but they still complain when there’s two Kentucky boys on the roster this season lol.
I’ve NEVER seen anyone complain about having “too many “ Kentucky boys on the roster. Is that what you’re trying to say, cause you have to provide some proof on that or it’s just ******** .

Call me color blind, but I think every KY Mr. Basketball should get an offer. The offer goes with the title and the two are inseparable, Now it's up to them to accept the offer, knowing they may play limited time. Maybe they get plenty? Just my 2 cents...
Can’t say I’m crazy about using 4 scholarships for that.

Apparently there’s bad blood between Cal and Jeff. If this is true, he’s probably smart not to offer.

Not unexpected. Wonder if UVA will offer on his visit?
Just to correct my earlier response to this post, I understand now that Sheppard has already had his unofficial visit to UVa. Evidently, it took place on or around June 15th. Little to no fanfare. Coach Bennett's presence at his games this past weekend created more buzz than the visit. Make of it what you will. Maybe an offer had been made, but it appears that those in the know are unaware of one. Or, no one is talking about it. Everyone does assume an offer will be forthcoming, though.

I don't totally disagree but if there was a run of 4 years with low level winners, that would create a roster problem. That said, most of them are able to contribute at this level by their jr or sr year.
Completely understand that. But I think any recruit (let's say a weak year) would realize that if the offer was accepted, there would be no playing time...move on to another school. But I totally understand your point.

Ah, so you guessed at a number that suited your position. I disagree but hopefully we won't have to find out who's closer to being correct.
It was an educated guess based on 50 years as a UK fan, 25 years on this site, decades of attending games, listening to call-in shows, etc. The percentage of UK fans who want a recruit solely because the kid is white, is very low, and getting lower every year. I’m guessing 5% and hopefully it’s lower than that. And as I said before, I guarantee you that Cal cares only about the other 95% of the fan base.

Oh, I may need to take a reading comprehension course. We are not on the same page. Yes, I'd say that stat is correct. When I was talking about Reed I didn't have race on my mind. I was talking about a talented, local, legacy player. I don't care if he's green with purple polka dots.
