That's why fans get on Wheeler so much. He ends up trying to force something late and in close games it ends up costing us. He has to be looking for others late. Cal has to keep him out at the end or run better stuff for others.

Good solid road win. Really liked the offense for most of the night. Looked rough on defense to start but got better as the game progressed. On to Kansas!

Beginning to remind me of the 2011 and 2014 teams. I liked those teams.
I know we won handily, but those last few plays with Wheeler just dribbling around looking stupid is why he needs to be on the bench more than the court. Just an ugly Wheeler offense there in the last few minutes.

We didn't get anything from the free-throw line ... that had a lot do with it. We usually get around 15 points from the line.
Good win tonight, I expect a good game on Saturday.

When he decides to grind, all we get is a prayer shot at the buzzer, if that.
Wheeler played a good game IMO. He was handed the ball with 2 seconds on the shot clock on one of those shots. I thought he was solid. If he plays under control he is an asset.

Maybe most complete game of year. Vandy had been playing some sneaky good basketball lately. And only shot 2 FT’s. Everybody who played had some good moments. That’s the niche Wheeler can have on this team. He’s needed. Would love to get Collins and Thiero going as well. Now if Cal would listen to us Bennies and stop taking the air outta the ball at the under 5 minute mark we may have something.

No they don't. Most coaches will keep running their offense and try to blow you out.
Cal is one of the few old school coaches who still grind their offense to a halt in the last 4 minutes with a lead.
Why does it matter? We had 17 assists as a team. I don’t think it really matters who got them. We shared the ball well.
Wheeler did fine but the ball does stop with him at times and to me that’s a problem

Someone should tell Stack that Cal kneeled, that should fix the issue.
When it’s Wallace and CJ, CJ is the one making most of the entry passes, etc., which is prob a good thing. Wallace’s best days as PG are down the road, he’s def more of a 2 right now.
