Was talking to Jef Drummond and both of us see the same impressive crispness from UK that they rarely have this early in the season. Defense/toughness looks way ahead of where it should be for a team with new players but also has to do with returning two point guards and two other rotation players
It’s great when some guys come back. Look what it did for PJ. Not in every way, but in some ways this is the best we’ve looked early in several years. That said there is a 2nd half to play.

Cal really needs to figure out a scheme for Whitney going forth, he's not a skilled ball handler nor shooter, greatly limits his options. Great in the open court, slashing and playing near the rim, believe he should play PF more until the other part of his game develop.

Hagans bad start to the half. Has to finish that layup and not be sloppy with the ball. Has 3 turnovers and 1 assist so far.

Is Hagans looking to get his? Does he have an assist this game? To me, it just seems he’s looking for his shot as opposed to assisting his mates. Granted, that’s not been his MO in the past.

It's real simple. Defense be damned. Hagan's progression on offense starts at the rim. Finish. If not he can come back for another year because the draft will not be a place for a guard that can't shoot or finish at the rim.
