Awesome, far exceeded what I thought they would get. Especially considering all the other organizations people are donating to, as others have noted.

Jim Beam just donated $1 million. With the match that puts the total raised to over $3.5 million so far!!!
Just curios where did you see that there is a match? My wife and I were going to donate to a fund at our church but if there is a match I might do it through the UK fund.

Damn!! Do some of you have to find negative out of everything posted. I’ll send my money and prayers and I’ll pray for all of us that seem to need conflict instead of just handing together for our Kentuckians in need. I apologize for my out burst but man there are times that demand love and cohesion.

And why is my post controversial.

Guys these people who lost everything need all the help they can get. I have spent the last 2 days in Dawson Springs helping a former Pastor and his family who lost everything. My friend was thrown from his house and had both legs broken and has to have recognition surgery on his face. His wife was hit on the back of the head (she is fine just sore).
I don't care where the money comes from because these people need HELP ! We were able to find some pictures of their family and some important papers. Pray for all the family's who lost their love ones and homes.

They're 2 different events separated by a decade. It's not an either/or deal. The fact that our program raises money to help people in need is awesome. Not something to compare and be embarrassed about if one event raises more or less than another was my point. This isn't political. I hate politics. It's helping people who need it. You think we shouldn't have had the telethon for Haiti? Is that really what you're saying? I hope not.

I just hope we’re quicker to take care of our own than outsiders. If not the purpose is moot and I see so many that don’t contribute here but complain when we don’t contribute more overseas.

The wife and I are driving down for the holidays from Maryland on Thursday to Union County and our car is over stuffed from donations up here. From money, to diapers, to clothes, water, shoes, I had to put my clothes in walmart bags instead of a suitcase to squeeze between the donations. Hoping to volunteer somewhere a few days next week.

Id rather that money go to my friends, family, and even people I don’t know in Kentucky. I hope the best for people from other countries, but we send crazy amounts of money there to begin with. It’s the American people we need to be concerned the most with. I don’t know why this is controversial. Every other nation worries about their own first, we’re being brainwashed into making our nation worse off.
Did your rep vote for Covid relief and infrastructure? If not, you might want to remind him or her of your post above.
