In all the excitement I forgot about the significance of this Saturday. When we take the field against UK, it will mark the first time a Mississippi team will do so carrying a #1 ranking in both polls. History in the making.

It feels good to be HATED again

On my son's peewee football team, which is aptly called the Tigers, one of the kids' Dad is a huge Rebel fan. All I've heard the past two weeks of practice is how over-rated State is and how Bo really hasn't played his best game yet and should be the leading Heisman candidate and that UM will beat the brakes off state and that we better enjoy it because Mullen is definitely gone to UF yada yada. He makes it a point to walk around the practice field to where me and another State buddy of mine are standing talking nearly each practice just to come needle us.

So, I finally asked him if he's ever been to a game in Oxford. "Well, no...but-". My curt response: "no further questions"

Here are three other players to keep an eye on:

• Josh Robinson, RB, Mississippi State: The Bulldogs were off this week but Robinson has no doubt been an excellent weapon to pair with Prescott this season. He's second in the SEC with 689 rushing yards and yards per carry (7.0) and tied for second with eight rushing touchdowns.

Josh Robinson, RB, Mississippi State: Robinson gets another chance in the national spotlight in Lexington to impress Heisman voters. Another 150-yard, multi-touchdown game would do the trick and would also give him the SEC lead in total rushing yards.
