According to Dr. Colley's math, UK is the #3 team in land, behind Kansas and Villanova.

http://www.colleyrankings.com/hcurrank.html

His matrix is very objective. Basically, you move up if win and down if you lose. It makes no adjustments for home court advantage or margin of victory. It's only about who you play and if you win.

Any metric that thinks Kansas is the best team leaves a lot to be desired. That team has half a dozen should-be losses.. whether it be the other team just handing them the game or awful awful officiating.

For this year (because many past Kansas teams have been pretty good), no metric matters when it comes to Kansas, because metrics don't factor 3-second in-bounds for the other team, or free walks to the hoop to win the game. I'll go with the eye-test.. and my eyes say Kansas isn't the best team in the country..

I can't knock them this year, they have played great, they beat us at our house so it's pretty obvious they're better than us, and I consider us a top 5 team. They have a good team.

They beat us with an injured Fox and absolutely no help from the officials.. Unlike when teams play at AFH.

And im not neccesarily saying we're better or would win if we played tomorrow. But no, they aren't the best team in the nation. Not top3.. Not sure they are even top5.

It'll be proven in just a few weeks. Kansas is gonna have to play a two teams in the top16 before a Final4, on a neutral court.. I dont see it happening. I think several Kansas teams in recent years were better..

I give them credit for 13 straight years winning their conference, bill self's incredible home record, every year they compete. We cannot win every year with superior talent in a very weak conference. But that's neither here nor there. I just can't really knock em. They're doing as well as anyone this year. I hope we don't face them, but hoping for the best if we do.

Care to talk about your.. I mean "their" NCAAT success?

They get protected every year. Big12 teams never seem to get up to play them. Their home court is almost impossible to win simoly cause of the officiating and fans.

Better Kansas teams have failed miserably in the tournament. This team has one big man and they lack depth overall.

If you're talking to me, I'm not sure what you're assuming but if you think I'm a KU fan no, born and raised in Kentucky and a UK fan for life, feel how you want to feel but it's silly belittling a team with one big man on their roster that came to our house by the way it's not easy to beat us in RUPP for your same reasons it's hard to win at AFH, and they beat us at home. So if they're not top 5, 10 then what are we? Just sounds like your still angry over the loss.

I understand this is our board, and we should be allowed to let off steam but it's important to be realistic.

It's hard to beat us at Rupp because we have absurd talent and teams can't absolutely rape us down low. Doesn't have as much to do with fans or atmosphere as you think. Kentucky got no gimmes that game, unlike last lear at AFH.

Guess we'll have to see. I'm taking all 3 pac-12 teams, UNC, Nova, all day. Probably UK and Duke as well (and becaude I know it will be brought up, no Tatum).

disagree big time. In fact, its easy to see that Kansas is clearly the #1 team and its not even close.
Wins over:
Duke
Georgia
Kentucky
Baylor
West Virginia

If someone else brings up a November Kansas win over a Duke team with out Tatum, giles or Bolden, freshman Jackson, Kennard not being Kennard yet, Jefferson missing all year prior.. And i believe Kansas had Azuibuike?

Lmfao. Kansas/Duke play tomorrow.. Im taking Duke.

Bragg is practically more of a detriment than anything, but OK.

And shooting 26% on the road isn't exactly putrid.. You make it sound like when WVU decided to make a million mistakes to give away a game..

when KU is shooting 43% on the year, yeah 26% is putrid.

So, why don't we just schedule all D2 schools. Just beat all those teams and we will be #1. Simple as that.
Not true. Sure you would move up with each win, but wins over very bad teams do not move the needle much. Check out his webpage for the math behind it. It is very solid.
