Thoughts about the spread? Seem kinda low to anyone else? Only thing holding me back is the strange venue.

Losses to Northern Iowa and Davidson by a combined 27 points. You make the call.

They will play like the Celtics against us. We are everyone's Super Bowl:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Take the cats IMO. Arizona State is going to try and run with us.
Actually, Coach Bobby Hurley said running with the Cats would be suicidal. He said they are going to slow it down and force us to shoot from the perimeter. It will probably be more like the Michigan State game.

Coaches say a lot of things. even if they try to slow it down, Michigan State is better than Arizona State and we beat them by more than 16.

Vegas still doesn't seem to have this Kentucky team nailed down yet. The opening lines haven't been very close thus far. And the canisius game is the only game we failed to cover.

I think it's easier said than done. In the two years that he's coached there they have been a high tempo team. I think it's difficult when it's not the style of the team to sudden change and be effective doing something you really haven't done. Slowing it down might actually make things worse on them.

I called it . I said it would be -17 or -18 so I was close. It should of been -25 but just like a few people on this board people think ASU is good due to name so Vegas had to set it low to get action.

Well, I'm no betting man, but if I were so inclined, I'd say UK covering in this game would be a very safe bet. I personally think the game will get out of hand fairly early. I'm guessing UK will cover the 16 in the first half.

Did Vegas not see that Northern Iowa beat this team on a neutral floor by 19, 82-63? I guess they think Northern Iowa is better than UK? It doesn't make sense to me.

Cal warned the people at practice yesterday that this will probably be a close game but its ok because we need a close game. He probably knows who the refs are already lol.. our buddy Doug Sirmons was reffing the battle for atlantis... wouldnt be shocked if he stayed a few extra days.

Seems about right. You have to remember UK has the talent to put teams away early which leads to lil Calipari coming in as well as the other guys who don't play much which leads to the lead being smaller by the end of the game

This UK team is going to be really frustrating to bet on in big spread games. Brad Calipari, for as much as I like the kid, has got to have one of the worst +/- ratings of any UK player of all time and Coach has shown a will to get him in with 6-7 minutes left, as opposed to with 1-2 minutes left like he has traditionally always done with the walk ons. I honestly don't have a problem with it, I'd do the same with my kid, but its gonna drive a lot of gamblers nuts.

We've covered in all but 1 game though. Easily.

This team will keep covering until Vegas realizes that we have a bunch of kids that don't stop when have a lead.

Here's the thing about Brad Calipari coming in: we've seen him early in several of these last few games, but the margin when he's come in has been 30+. If the margin is under 20, I don't think we'll see him very early. Folks need to bear in mind, UK has been winning games by an average of 28, and that's WITH the bench being cleared in nearly every game. UK could have won that UT Martin game by 50.

The early playing of brad lately has a lot to do with Briscoe being out

I don't think so. Hurley said trying to run with us would be "suicide". The only UK game I've had the privilege of watching in person was vs Buffalo a couple years ago with Hurley coaching. They were up on us at halftime, and that was the team won 38 games. I won't be sleeping on ASU.

Right now, it should be larger than -16.

It might end up being closer but betting line should be higher.

I'm taking ASU to cover. I feel like UK's 6 straight wins over 20 points will have too many betting for UK. Go opposite

Yep, this line seemed very low to me, based on the numbers I was seeing. And we're seeing that on the floor. Arizona State is just not the team oddsmakers thought, and UK is better than they thought, too. Go Cats!
