Worst offense I’ve ever seen. I guess I’ll throw the players under the bus

Yes, he did a terrible job this year as a QB coach/OC, and he actually has a track record which suggests that is just who he is as a coach.

HOWEVER, umm...well...actually that's it.

Two players accounted for 21 of the 31 turnovers. I'm sure you also also the penalites and missed blocks. I'm sure you saw the missed tackles and dropped ints.

The players do have some responsibility to take care of the football and make plays when they're there for you to make.

The coaches have to get better on game day as well. Lots of blame to go around.

Way too early 2024 win total prediction:

$2M QB: 6-8 wins
HH and power run: 6-7 wins
Anyone else: 4-5 wins

The article says Nebraska lost to Iowa in overtime, so it isn't as if USA Today sports is at the top of their game.

It’s no coincidence that this same article has been brought up twice now by a newbie and walk on who rarely posts. People please don’t feed the trolls.

If NW can get 7 wins with what they had we should have done at least that or better. Coaches need to take some blame for the ineptitude on offense.

Heads should roll

But they won’t because there’s nobody putting pressure on the staff to win

Everyone got raises instead

Thats why coaches (and players to a lesser extent) should have a more incentive based pay. I say put Satt on the Ferentz contract. Get at least 24 points/game or get a new job.

To be fair, some of the worst players I've ever seen running it.

HH while clearly a great athlete is not a Div 1 passer.

Then by all means don’t commit to what he does well and won games

Keep spreading it out and dropping back because it’s what you know

Same goes for sims/purdy

Yeah, commit to QB runs against 7+ guys in the box. Then wonder why your QB is injured.

We used to have QBs that would not have been QBs for any team who relied on pocket passing. We won a lot of games too with them

He shouldn't be given the opportunity. He should go to strictly TE coach or be shown the door.
I will lay money that Rhule brings in a pretty good quarterback coach ASAP. Satterfield was the reluctant QB coach, and it was disastrous. He forgot to tell the guys to hang onto the ball!

If his offense looks like it did this past season with a good quarterback and good skill players, then I'll agree with this sentiment.

The problem with the injury excuse is most of the players we lost were replaced by players we can't say were any better or worse.

Fantastic. I think Nebraska must lead the nation in patience. Rhule is willing to struggle along at least through next season and may beyond just so his friend Marcus Satterfied can keep his job, the OC. Damn the results as long as the team is accomplishing what Rhule like likes to say, "making incremental improvements.".

Ervin should have never been injured in the first place because he shouldn't have been playing when the injury happened. Injuries and when they happen can be blamed on smooth brained coaching. That one is on Rhule who had a bit of smooth brained moments this season.

Just re-discovered the ignore poster button. Kind of defeats the purpose of sharing ideas, but once in a while someone appears on the scene for no purpose other than to scream, “Look at me !” and obviously isn’t interested in sharing ideas.

Used to have a lot of things. At the end of the day, you have to be able to competently throw the ball down the field.

So a Will Howard type is only worth .5 more wins than a QB who had wins this year with 80-120 yards passing and a 49% completion rate.

Makes sense to me.

Yet they were easily in the top 50 of QBs in the country.

Of the current lot Sims is in the bottom 25 and HH is probably in the bottom 50.

I don’t have any idea. Just didn’t appreciate our staff trying to fit square pegs into round holes.

harder schedule

same OC

same OL

same RBs

same WRs

same TEs

the people who think we're 1 player away from 10 wins are sorely mistaken

Are they? If that one player (QB) cuts your turnovers in half you win at least 2 more games.
