The one thing we couldn’t afford is an injury to Sanders, Baker, or Williams. This is where the Mensah and Bullock mistakes bite us in the ***.

Yah I was just trying to figure out who was on crutches. Didn't see mike out there and was hoping it wasn't him.

Damn.

IMO...Thiam will get the increased minutes...30-35.

Sanders, Baker and Williams usually end games...now it will be Thiam.

Souf has played a little better lately and is doing servicably tonight. Maybe he can get to serviceable - likely his ceiling.

We now have 2 healthy B1G guards on the team unless you can't Thiam as a guard. This is terrible..

I cant count Thiam is a guard when Pike has yet to play him with only one of Sanders, Baker, Mensah, or Dadika. And I dont think you can be encouraged from what we saw from Mensah today, so yea its going to be a tough stretch. Its the risk you take when you have 3 scholarship sit out players

All depends where the sprain is and how bad, bottom line, I played a week after a sprain then sat a month once. Got to the point where my left ankle could almost go sideways and I'd walk it off LOL!

Dadika needs a few more minutes

It almist makes no difference at all. Mensah can’t shoot at all but has a B1G body. Dadika can shoot a little but is physically overmatched. Neither is a D1 player. I guess in this case, we are going to play the one on scholarship.

The OSU guards who were defending Mensah tonight were literally sagging off of him by 6-8 feet and he still wouldn’t shoot. That says to me that he simply CANNOT shoot.

I don’t care how much defense and ball handling he does. If a guard can’t shoot the ball at all, he really doesn’t belong on the floor.

The really frustrating part is that we were just emerging from the brutal part of our schedule. I think we could have won half of our remaining games, but without Williams, it will be a struggle to win ANY of our remaining games.

Probably being emotional.....

Kiss the season good bye if this is more than a 2 week injury.

There is no getting passed this one.

Johnson kiss bullock Souf kill us here.

I understand this post...but at the same time, we're not where we are without Baker, Eugene and the incredible improvement from Sa (as just a couple of examples).

my only point is that no coach bats a thousand.

considering what he inherited, I am still completely fine with how the roster looks right now. our coach is Steve Pikiell, not Jesus.

Out of necessity Mensah will be on the court for extended minutes with Williams injury and the offense will be playing five against four favoring the opponent.

I cannot disagree with you...having 4 guys, 2 guys on the team and 2 sitting out was not the best roster management. The Bullock situation should have been dealt with last year. I continue to say I am skeptical on Johnson and Kiss well that is a total who knows.

Other teams in the league have injuries especially last year was a big year for injuries in league and you have to play the hand you are dealt. There are players who will and should be asked to step up. I think Pike needs to rely on them more rather than try to make Freeman and Sanders be the answer for everything. I would rather sacrafice wins this year in a year that was not going to go to postseason for getting more shots and experience for Doucoure, Thiam and Eugene. Right now I do not think that Pike is handling Doucoure the proper way, he should not be starting

Maybe Duocoure starting is a way to guarantee minutes for a guy who needs to play some. If he doesn’t start you could see games where he might go the way of Sa or Doorson and not play a half or entire game depending on matchup.

Also maybe at practice he plays with a lot of intensity which needs to get rewarded.

The announcer said that the ankle was so swollen and filled with blood that the doctors couldn't even make an assessment of how bad the sprain was. Same thing happened to me in High School, and I was on crutches for 6 weeks. If Mike was on crutches, I fear that he is going be out for quite awhile. I hope that I am wrong though.
